The Burning Bush

watercolors bleed through the waking woods —
     nebulous November fog
              releases crimson shade

Eventide

When God was a burning bush
He happened to see Eve's tush
Butt wise to his games
Eve peed on the flames
And disappeared in a whoosh!

Behind the Burning Bush

Thou shalt not suffer a witch to live
As God blessed them all with love to give
Allow them a voice
And men lose free choice
And no one wants that alternative!

Tear Crocodile Bush

If pray

A burning bush

Twas to appear

I fear

Crocodile tears

May not be enough

To quell

It's flammable design

In time for next pennants

And confessions

Flash Flood Warning

aka
Terry's Rush Hour Tube Trauma

A voice rose from a burning bush,
"O feel the contours of my tush!
Ounce for ounce
Cheeks will bounce
With just an itty-bitty push!"

Sounds From God

Sounds from God

When we heard God's sounds that are shrill,
Which in tossing sea gave us a great thrill,
We set sail,
Without fail;
Had seen Him in burning bush high on a hill.

O' Burning Bush-

O’ burning bush, where should I look?
Your fires burn infinite;
Those ambers a blaze;
Yet in the cinders golden haze;
You sparkle, always…

Serene Mount

Mountain
Forged throughout time
Scorched by blistering sun
Where Moses stood with burning bush
Hearing the Lord's voice carried in the wind
Sacred earth reaching towards Heaven
To touch the hands of God
Revered again

An Easter Haiku

I

Good Friday dark dawn;
Jesus said: "I AM he",
Sad world all fall down.

II

Easter Morn bright dawn;
Burning bush I AM said,
"Let my people go!"

III

In the desert bare;
Empty tomb, garden now bloom,
Tears all wiped away.

Autumn Fire

Memories of Moses and the Burning Bush
jet into my mind,
as everywhere around me is filled with amber
of fallen leaves and canopies. It feels as though
I'm engulfed into a cold, still fire,
that smells of sandalwood, cider
and serenity....

View From a Villa

yonder is a flaming red, vintage corolla

basking in the sun in the yard of this villa,

                            casting no shadow,

                           while by the window,

dances a burning bush, blazing bougainvillea !

Burning Bush

See, Bathsheba looks hot in the tub, gives King David a bit of a chub. He exclaims, “Lordy, Moses!” then, Uriah, disposes, and gets burned when he burns for that shrub.

Leaves

Leaves swirling as birds wing south for winter amethyst rose skies sail over burning bush unending fields of pink and purple dianthus cast their gaze as sun heads off to the land of nod; scent of late autumn cookout consumes me.

Burning Bush

You stood up
Through the Battle
You burned
To prove a point
You are the Burning Bush

Moses saw you
God spoke to you
The Israelites passed you
You surpassed the greatest
You are the Burning Bush

Critical power
Let you Endower
The greatest pain
Of the hottest Flame
You are the Burning Bush

The Call

Not Damascus road but the burning bush
Or where the ships for Tarshish dock
Find me swaddled in the bulrush deep
With neither rod nor sight I shall hide
Only where you cleft your side for me
And as your witness pursue hell's Herod
Beyond my brimming wilderness, for I
To your service pledge my life in praise

Have You Seen the Poet?

have you seen the poet?
who wrote like Moses
with thoughts like lightning
who envisioned a better world
but solved pain with pills
waged war with words
describing images that scratched
against the stomach lining
messed with the mind
did this poet find God
in a burning bush?
or did a heroin filled needle
strike on hallowed ground?

The Runway

THE RUNWAY

A sea of cars
Riding on my back
Abroad, intensified with speedy tires
Lubricant, passengers of thought

Bolded signs of ‘U’ turn
Too shabby to understand
On a straight road with
No roundabout

Only then, stirring to the wheels
Into a burning bush of no flames
Dumped in the garage of animal homes
Eat me up, if that will help

Love's Embrace

Love came to me like a warm fire
Hugging me in a cold wintry night
As a burning bush you engulfed me
In your flames of desire
A little delay till our souls met
Never caused any harm
It was God's miracle
That brought us together in this cosmic bond
But it takes time to embrace the pain
Of not having you near
And loving you wholeheartedly strong.

Flask

dear change,
i've seen you here before
scratching scoundrel
itching with mange-
the undomesticated mutt.
charmed, finessed (i am
the butt of your joke) (you
are the ash to my smoke)
dear change,
loop swoop pull &
push- peering thru the
burning bush, all
teehees & cracking
leaves; oh dear
change, i only want to
ask, will you share
whatever's in your
flask?

Inner and Outer

INNER AND OUTER

when being inside
not sitting out - looking in
what a difference!

birth from the middle
what a struggle what bawling
on the loss of warmth

see the burning bush
marvel at what is inside
lifetime of searching

view of a manger
with mother and babe inside
behold! the star

a lonely moment
left out of everything
what is life about?

Eternal Flame

A Spark in time
Shining ever so Bright
Through the darkness
Of this Life

Guided by... God's Holy Light
With Satan's fiery darts
Always missing our Eternal Spark

Which in turn
Spark shall remain
Continue... to grow
Without Blemish or Blame

Forever Love... Flows
Into God's Eternal Flame

Remember...Keep your Eternal Spark Love growing
Into God's Glorious Flaming Fire... ~Burning Bush~

Early Signs

The tribe was arguing amongst themselves.
While they were thus engaged
a nearby bush burst into flame.

“That bush is on fire.” Said a watchful elder.
The tribe grunted acknowledgement,
for it was indeed a burning bush.

“Piss on it,” another suggested. –
so they did.

Naturally the discovery of fire
was much delayed, and is it any wonder
that after Moses,
God
retreated into a puzzled silence.

I Want To Be With God Alone To Ask Again To Etch In Stone

The burning bush on Mt. Sinai
A sight to see before I die
So, I could be with God, Alone
To ask again, to etch in stone

All his commandments, once again
Some have forgotten all the ten
Some good, some bad...we all have flaws
The bitten apple- "That's because"

Because Eve bit that tasty fruit
And Adam raised the cane- to boot
We find ourselves committing sins
And dancing to sweet violins

Encounter

Somewhere there is my burning bush
Where I may come
Barefooted as I have always been
Over the rocks of Canterbury,
And there before your fire stand
Face to face
I, the image of you man
You, the blueprint I am scaled from
We two poles of sympathies,
Like gulfs beckoning
Jesus to walk where differences dare.
I pray that because of Jesus
I, like the self-ignited bush,
Shall not be ash blown into the air.
