The clamor heard
In the urgent awakening of Spring
Slowly dies down
During the indolent lethargy of Summer,
But quickly revives
With the crisp tanginess of Fall,
Only to be subdued again
By the icy brittleness of Winter.

The clamor heard
In the urgently raucous awakening of Spring
Slowly dies down
During the lethargic sibilance of Summer,
But quickly revives
With the crunchy tanginess of Fall,
Only to be subdued again
By the crackling brittleness of Winter.

maybe it's true what they say
stress can kill
but maybe it's not always true how
why don't we talk about the slow process
of deterioration
of metal in the elements
rusting into brittleness
the way stress
is water
and the mind
is titanium, strong at first
until water pours over
and rust builds
until it slowly comes apart
unable to withstand the weight
it once could
