Untitled #47 / Upon the Emptied Blackboards

Upon the emptied blackboards
chalkdust yet remains,
smeared, the work of a
thousand problems, minds behind each,
even the blue message of a
young lady waving goodbye.

Premium Member Making Shovels Scrape

Listen to poem:
When shovels scrape
and make screeches
like fingernail grates
on blackboards,
you know the job
is almost done.
As shovels designed to scoop,
when flipped over and made to rake,
shriek their embarrassment.

Premium Member Half past Summer, Two Months till Fall

Half past summer, two months till fall,
boredom, bullies; teacher neglect.
sandcastles, encase, be my pall!
Half past summer, two months till fall.
when school bells toll, tenderfoots bawl—
sun's embrace, we'd warmly collect.
Half past summer, two months till fall,
blackboards, bullies; teacher regret.

Agreement feels like a back tickle
smells like magnolia
sounds like soft crickets and rushing water
looks like the bright moon
tastes like milk

Disagreement feels like a toe stub
smells like rotted vegs
sounds like fingernails running down blackboards
looks like the pic took of you at fourteen
tastes like medicine

Not so much difference, eh?
