your name is a river running
smoothly through deep wooded rifts

your poems are little paper boats
carrying a candle of sandalwood and beeswax

upon the night tree's ancient branch
a black panther watches

Premium Member Betty Loves her Hideout

Beeswax bumble betty sits in luxury in her steed’s antler nest.
Knowing that her situation is remarkable, maybe the best.
Others parade around but they never come this far west.
She is in her element, loving her hideout, in the antler’s nest

Premium Member Nonsense Poem

boisterous beekeeper was bathed, bound and belted.
besieged by bevy of beauties whose beeswax was melted.
fickle, frantic, frolicking friendly freedom, freshly felted.
persnickety, lickety-splickety personified, pointed and pelted.
On a sweaty, snarly summers eve swiggled, swayed and swelted.

Lilacs in Harmony

my body grows lilacs
they swell in my ears
almost like beeswax
dispelling sounds,
cries of help

the sweet purple runs through me
reminders of cajole come to distract
the misty perfume
brings weary sighs
i must sleep

while awake, my head is etching for freedom
slumber brings opportunity
the real world lies there
like a guitar singing
fragmented moments are pieced together

denouement

warm honey flows
through beeswax veins
and pools upon cloth
of azure blue

glow of sun filtered
filigree through leaves
an open window invitation
to Sunday just across the sill

a hawkers sing song cry
from the cobbles below
berries, sweeet strawberries
come buy my lovely berries

sudden feather gusts of morning breeze
bring scents of fruit and jasmine
to my bed

but I am too lazy to move
to disturb the honey flow.

“Laws of the land enslave our people”

                                                     -Robin Hood

Sunlight glances off the flint tip
As justice swims through the air

The belly of the bow stave
Carved in yew

Whose nock, twined in hemp
Bonded in beeswax
Burns with the passion of man

Forged in the forest
Practiced on the buckle

Freedom flies true

                          Freedom

                                               Flies true

Premium Member He Gave His Job the Ax

My charming husband hails from Halifax
Where they make the world’s finest beeswax
For years he worked preparing income tax
Wearing a suit and tie with neatly pressed slacks
He would take care of details including sales tax
Correspond with clients usually by phone or by fax
The day he retired he reached an all-time climax
I proposed he start to learn to play the sax
But he says he loves to chill and just relax
