Arunansu

Arunansu

your name is a river running
smoothly through deep wooded rifts

your poems are little paper boats
carrying a candle of sandalwood and beeswax

upon the night tree's ancient branch
a black panther watches

The name "Arunansu" sounds so very obviously Red Indian, yet there is a river in West Sussex (southern England) called the Arun...how very peculiar? Marvelous little write, Patricia. :) john

Now this is so innocent and beguiling, right up to the moment that you steal my breath away. Well crafted and ingenious.
