All My Old Friends Already Gone
Unfortunately- all my old friends already gone,
But I got new two - always with me together.

We are inseparable. In any place and weather!...

It only screws up the brain

Undying Love From In the Land of the Elderly
The husband of a friend
Is in an Alzheimer ward
Of a nursing home.
She visits him daily.
Most of the time
He doesn't know who she is.
She sits with him and
Strokes his hand.
One day, very near the end,
He puts his arm around her and says,
"You're the only girl I ever loved."...

I do not know?
The Empty Shell
Sometimes I forget to breathe
In this solitude
I try hard to remember
My way back home
Maybe I never had
My own nest
I just borrowed
The others'
As a young cuckoo
Sick with Alzheimer
Snow clears the shadows
And any trace
Of heavy steps
So I can not return
At my shell
With rancid curtains
From a cobweb...

Blank verse
Her Castle of Confusion
I am building a castle with my hands and my feet.
I have sand in this bucket and a sandwich to eat.
There are broken shells on the beach, they can be used.
Don’t tell me I can’t; for I am terribly confused.
I am adding soldiers, so you will leave me alone.
Don’t speak to me unless you are taking me home.
I am building a castle with my toes in a pure happy day.
Alzheimer be damned, don’t take my reason away....

Alzheimer
Of all the
Things about her,
Beguiling smile is
All I remember.
Of all the
Faces I’ve seen,
Hers was the most
Relevant in dreams.
Of all the
Rewards I sought,
Her love was the
Best I ever got.
Of all the
Sounds I hear,
Her voice felt
Most soulful & clear.
Of all the
Lips touching mine,
Her lips felt
Most tepid & divine.
Rest of the
Things about her,
Kept fading away
With my Alzheimer....

Once We Were Ii
Cherished lovers ...
only in a magical mesmerizing moment
coloring passion remembered.
Passion ... someone's perfume perhaps or,
a desire for chocolate fudged to ebony.
Sweethearts embrace
held in pre-alzheimer snapses ... cuddling.
Such a pity, or perhaps ...
a blessing? Why swoon or sway in the silence?
Just rest in a sweetness
of simmered leftovers
embracing this soul that knows
mountaintop peaks,
starbursts of ectasy
forever and always....

Old Pepper Grinder
Old wooden pepper grinder’s
thinking of the past.
Dreaming ‘bout its days of glory,
now collecting dust.
It’s got stories, it’s got wisdom
but no one’s there to listen.
It’s feeling rusty, useless and lonely
somewhere in the kitchen.
Wanting to retell old anecdotes,
just to be taken into warm hands.
Instead Alzheimer’ s at the door,
saying he wants to be friends.
Old wooden pepper grinder’s
thinking of the past.
Praying to be used again
before the journey’s end....

Stars and the Light That Is Not
cloudy or clear
seen or unseen
they will shine
whether dead or alive
they make ghosts see in the dark
make cats and dogs
go in and out of their own shadows
a full moon
is stuck on the roof
of a nursing home
Alzheimer gets angry with itself
dementia goes out for a naked walk
newborns sleep in peace
always to wake up crying
their pale faces molded
into alien shapes
and the stars
the far and away stars
gleam out from their forever dark
eternally empty
mouse holes...
