Alberta likes to stoke up on some beer
That way, she conquers each one of her fears
She can fly, even die
Without batting an eye
But she still won't undergo a pap smear
Found a new friend from out Alberta way
Willow's her name, a sweet young thing in the hay
Also Whispering-Breathless
She seems quite precocious
February twenty-eighth was surely my lucky day
Spring is here at last.
The first buds struggle to rise.
A sudden freeze comes.
The new buds wither.
Birds seek shelter from the cold.
Spring in Alberta.
Temperatures vary
Warm, cold, freezing in one day.
Never a dull moment here.
Alberta…..they probably just shook their heads and muttered “ey?”
Texas…probably rode it down, roped it, branded it and sent it on its way.
Florida….they probably took it fishing... in the Everglades…’nuf said!

This morning it was plus fifteen,
And now it's ten below.

WELCOME TO ALBERTA
Winter's passed, the snow is gone,
The weather's mild and sunny.
I dream sweet dreams of lazy days,
And eating clover honey.
Then suddenly the wind comes up,
First rain and then wet snow.
This morning it was plus fifteen,
And now it's ten below.

Some others come from Quebec and Alberta.
A few call their homes Ontario or Manitoba.
They may come from as far as the Yukon Territory.
People from the true north strong and free
write some very impressive poetry.

I always check to see what they write.
Reading their work often proves to be a delight.

I backed
out of the garage,
glanced at the Alberta spruce tree
and paused,
delighted to see it framed by
a halo of crystal light
from rain.
Surprise
nighttime visitors,
in toil until the break of sun,
spin and spin
to weave gossamer funnel homes
then retreat and wait to catch
a bug.
Like Ice,
crystal moisture drops
sparkle in avant-garde sunrays,
to unmask
delicate funnel spider webs
that cling to the top of each
seed pod.
I have a contest, up its all about reality in three different
Places where people (who are not fresh out of psychiatric
Care ) are living their lives; doing their thing' Patrick King
For one making a great impact in Alberta' so it can be done
I believe even here.. Maybe a little less so.? Today seeing
Not one entrant as yet.' But I won't write the souper group
Off just yet..) I wish you all; all the best out there
