The Storm God Wakens
Clouds encircle
sage colored dreams,
ice crystals block the sky

Today in shadows,
yesterday’s warning,
 memories start to cry

The stratus thickens,
impending doom,
prophesy to remind

Aeolus has woken,
his rain of tears
—ablution most unkind

(Dreamsleep: April, 2021)...

Cycle
Dearest young leaf,
Why so melancholy?
Thy emerald sheath has not borne Time's folly.

Think not of Autumn's deathly brilliance,
Of colors rich and flaky grounds,
For Thou wilt weep every moment hence,
While Springtime's youth still bounds.

Greet Thy greenness with glee,
For thy root to the Oak remains strong,
Aeolus' fury on Thee has no effect till Summertime gone.

So worry not of what is to come,
Enjoy Thy existence, little one....

WINTER

you come, as unwelcome,
as rain on a sunny day,
and you play a game
of how cold you can hurt.

the flowers, the fresh smell
of nature rides on Aeolus,
to different time, different
place, some far away land.

and what stays, dies forever,
or succumbs to await its return.
you hurt, cold, brisk, so
windy, and then you cry.

you cry on all, dry white tears,
that pile so high, we must
pick them up and await the
residue to melt....

Sing, sing a song of freedom,
fly, fly messenger of the world.
Glide through Aeolus carrying the word.
Let nothing hinder your flight of peace.
Be not afraid of God's message.
Just glide, messenger, glide.

Sing, beauty of song, sing.
Sing it loud, peace. Sing it clear, peace.
Sing the song for all to hear.

Let it ride on Boreas, glide on Zephyr,
whisk through Favonius and Eurus.
Sing, that glorious message of our Lord.
Sing that precious song....

Premium Member Windy Nights and Mornings
Blackened tendrils take the trees,
Take the skin by follicle,
Empty matter, pushed debris,
Pressed and parabolical.

Zephyrus claims, lack of choice,
Echoes through the aether,
Chaos calms his quiet voice,
To suffer with the weather.

Windows shutter, clap in tune,
Aeolus purring bag and pipe,
Uilleann iron, aural rune,
Despite aptitude and gripe.

Nonetheless the Iris slims,
To folded air in lack of light,
Cluttered ever in the whims,
To that which chances sight....

Winds of Earth
Invisible power
mighty strength,
force of Nature
fearing of no earthly being.

Whipping, ripping, howling -
those inhuman sounds;
gentleness, soothing -
like holding a newborn.

Civilizations have honored you -
Aeolus, Zephyrus,
Aquilo, Auster...
Gods - Greek and Roman.

We build towers to harness you,
birds to ride you,
tunnels to beat you,
structures to withstand you.

You alone mystify us,
entrance us, defy us...
invisible force, mighty force -
Nature's strength....
