Wheel of Wealth

Wealth is a wheel which
vice and virtue turning well.
Solo vice follows,
fain to the wealthy abodes.
Why the virtue left behind?

Traffic safety

Take caution on the roads, as you make your right turn
For danger abodes, too late you may learn
As a biker decodes, your intentions to spurn
With the changing of modes, regrets you will yearn

Of Poets and Rapists

The lunatic caressed the words of the lips
The saint crept the innocent’s soul

The first spurt his ink in the pulp
The second groped for the flesh’s call

The rhymester’s itch by pen, relief!
The copulator’s, prey’s grief!

The poet died sane with words
The rapist in fire abodes!
Form: Rhyme

My Love

She first and last my thoughts of memory,
puzzling my sight of write in a poet's swift tale of recite

My melody another flow,
as her fidgets digits the rhyme scheme of every heartbeat of mine

She's not of a tale,
yet her tangible is aloof my abodes

...and with her am ready to mingle!

Premium Member Christmas Cheer

A Merry Christmas cheer
to all you people this year
Out with the old
In with the new
Be thankful in all you do
Stuffed tummies about to burst
Wine to quench the thirst
Safety on the roads
While you visit many abodes
I send blessings for everyone
For Christmas and all year long.

On precept Palin
Concepts are wailing
     Concepts spoofs
     Love is truth
Corporate failing

Amidst the wailing
Her ship keeps sailing
     Precept’s truths
     She’s no goof
Beliefs are sailing

Her precept is right
May need to try it
     Now maybe
     Sweet Baby
She abodes in light!!

At least she confesses tunnel’s light!!

Stuffed

A special November day
for children, laughter and play.
To others, a day full of loved ones.
A meal too big for all, plates ladened with love.
Amazing how we relate love to stuffing.
Father and son eye the sport,
belts unbuckled, bare bellies rubbed.
Saving the dishes for later,
joyful colors adorn humble abodes,
sprucing up dreary days.
Day one of the rejoicing era
is soon to follow.

To All the Drivers

To all the drivers on the roads,
With empty cars or filled-up loads,
I wish you’d stayed in your abodes
And left the highways free.

For moving at a turtle’s pace,
With miles of traffic still to face,
Which, lately, seems the normal case,
Is simply not for me.

So heed my words and stay at home
Since, if you feel the need to roam,
You’ll join a sea of steel and chrome,
An awful place to be.

Awaken

Blanket of white top tall pines
with a crown fit for royals,
Brobdingnagian boughs reach in praise
a day in all splendor

Welcome the event unfolding
now before a waiting world
in need of much warmth,
only time stands before it.

Secure and serene,
chimney smoke wafts
from abodes no longer
fearful but hopeful.

Awake! Awake!
our hearts on fire,
can we fathom this splendor
winter brings?

Homewards Bound

HOME
Home be it where your heart is at peace
Rather than a fixed position on a map
Home is where your heart finds its joy
Rather than an ideation of a house
Rather than thoughts of brick on mortar
Rather than thoughts of a smug family
Home is where you are contented in spirit
Rather than the constant missing I do feel
Home I will make it where my body abodes
Home my heart yearns for, Am a Sojourner

eyes wide earth at my feet
standing there I cough
while tugging at a loose
string I approach the foyer
dazzled by grit lock surprises
cautiously I sneeze waving
all rights to a fresh handkerchief
silence abodes as the rough
dragging sound of two large pumps
stuffed in a crowded elevator
one word expressed repeatedly
morning morning morning
my thoughts were posh
and rather timid as a voice
announced hey Hank
this will be my stop
