Dedicated to Marsha Wilson, another service brat who lived on Texas Strasse in Hainerberg military housing area in 1960.  Not my first love, but the first to inspire verse.  Verse was just coming into its own for young people taking after the bohemians of the movies.  We were the same age, but she was into older guys....some guy named Goforth.  Strange I should still remember that.  He was kind of a high school stud.  She did say I was a "good kisser" and, sometimes, I would steal a kiss in the basement where the laundry and storage rooms were.  I used to pull myself up to her window sill and watch her sleep.  I have hoped many times that life was good to her.
Quiet night. Quiet love... Never told. Damn my silence. Wish you understood. All I am is you. I feel such a fool... And fools are cheap these days.
