the fabric remembers her hands~
floured fingerprints on crimson petals,
the knot at her waist pulled tight
as she turned from the oven’s glow.
heat curls the edges,
fraying the green leaves
where gravy once splattered~
a stain, a story.
Mother wore it like armor~
against time,
against hunger,
against the silence
of an empty kitchen.
Now it hangs,
a ghost of cinnamon and cloves,
still holding the shape
of her laughter.

a green
Christmas
tree aglow blinking in the
darkest night
decorated with lights and ribbons
angelic star at the top
and gifts at the base.
I see smile on each and every face
in the happy season of love
when the light of hope shines
bright and spreads the festive magic in the cold air
as the wafting snowflakes weave motifs outside
the joy of warmth from inside of me I share
with you
so deeply

Blue Spruce
Born from a cone
Green leaves shaped like needles
Inhale deep draughts carbon dioxide
Provide places for wrens and chickadees to hide
Sticky sap exuded from the bark leaves a fragrant scent
Cones fall to the ground, the seeds of the next generation
Brown branches support long strands of twinkling Christmas lights

will winter bring on the blues
remember the joy of the gifts
the delight in each of the children's eyes
so, the tree must be packed up this cold day
memories stored away, a few snapshots, too

Hand in hand
When our hearts
Beat in rhythm there's
Replacements if we think
Xmas is a fun time every year
Too bad it couldn't be all year long
HAPPY
HAPPY
So
it is
Xmas, time
to rejoice the
coming of the Lord.
Time to thank Him for what
you have: family, friends, health;
time to think of what you have done;
time to be still in His presence---peace.
Joy
to
the world!
JOY, JOY, JOY
Joy
to the
world! It is
the joyous time
of the year. Fretting,
dragging are not allowed.
Smile, jump, shake, shake, shake.
Shake the weight off your shoulder, stop
carrying it. Open your heart to faith, open your
mind to hope, welcome joy with spring in
your steps, enthusiasm, start acts of
greetings, a wave, a nod. Be
kind and thankful to lift
your soul. Now,
time for
joy.

HAPPY HOLIDAYS!
12/3/23 Sweet Lady Jane (Marilene Evans)
I
shut
my eyes,
what do I want
for this Christmas?
Big smiles
and laughter
of the children.
Talks, laughs, jokes, quips
while having,
the Christmas Eve
dinner, drinks, desserts.
Sharing our Christmas Eve,
our wonderful family tradition
year after year, we appreciate and
treasure and I hope will continue on and on.
Joy
and
peace be with us.
I
F
only I
could imagine
the tinkling of the
sweet church bells in
that dear little country we
called our home. With lovely
sun drenched hills amid, yellow
fields of daffodils. As bells chime
a glorious tune for Christmas day.
Soon to be by the magic light of the
silver Moon, St Nicholas will be here.
Gold Bells on his sleigh and here with
Eight Reindeer spreading gifts of joy to
children in many lands across the world.
As all come to church on that great day by
God’s Almighty Grace we receive His blessing.
As He makes the bell toll for us as He rings it with
His
Love
!

I
am
Christmas
in a fir tree,
I was born wild,
in a boreal forest.
And I never imagined,
that I would end up lit up,
my branches holding decorations.
I was about strength and about courage,
a river flowed past me since I was a young.
Now, I am tranquility and serenity in my death,
a symbol of Christmas, twinkling in the living room.
My branches like a quiet violin crying, you can hear them falling
I gave
to life
all the
soul I
had in me, all these years, trembling in the wind, the sun, the rain
and snow. My reward for being majestic is my death ... how cruel!
I rested under the snow and placed on a cloak of pure white beauty,
then ... in the Spring my roots felt the black earth and I dug deeper.
