The tree comes down and the routine changes. Post holiday blues are very real for some. Once our tree is down I often note how much space that it opens up..well, all for a day or two and then it’s back to normal. :) I was there somewhere in your poem Sara comparing what was to the now. Cheers - Gary

Gary, for the last two years I have not put up a tree and it might have been three years. Not since I had COVID and that was three years ago heading toward four. Maybe it has been 3 years since I had a tree. Anyway, I was remembering. Thaks for the visit and nice review of my work. Sara K

Dear Sara, you capture the bittersweet end of Christmas with poetic finesse expressed in a wonderful Christmas tree shape. The thought of oncoming winter blues contrasts nicely with "remembering the joy of gifts" and "the delight in each of the children's eyes". Congratulations for your success in Brian's contest. Warmest wishes.. ~Susan

Lovely Sara. I never got my tree or decorations out of storage this year, but my neighbor moved and gave me a tree I was saving for daughter who wasn't able to pick it up. I found ornaments my aunt had crocheted years ago. The given tree was up and decorated Christmas Eve with those along with lights my son had thought to put on the house but didn't. Our family tree didn't get put up this year, reflecting change. Your sweet poem is sentimental. I love how you shaped it into a Christmas tree <3

BJ, I like the way a Christmas Tree took shape at your house. It was good that you had a tree to enjoy that some many people played a role in getting it put up. Thanks for stopping by and sharing your journey. Sara K

Andrea, I haven't put up a tree since I had COVID 3 years ago. I have had a live plant on the table that is sort of Christmasy for the past two years and that is all. I take my family out to eat about 2 weeks before Christmas so they can then do all their celebrations within their new families and know that I am happy that they can do that. We eat breakfast at Phyllis' on Christmas morning each year which is nice. Thanks for dropping by. Sara K

Anne-Lise, I have not put up a tree as such since I had COVID 3 years ago. I have not felt up to dealing with it so this work is about years ago, but at one time I put the tree up either Christmas day or the day after then I started leaving it until the day before New Years. Thanks for the kind review and encouraging words. Sara K

Sara, The season of love passes by in this poem. Though the hope Christmas brings remains in the spirit and joy of a brand new day. Very nice Shape. -Richard
