Premium Member Shake It Up, Gershon

Not too many fellow poets read my lines anymore
I’m either rather predictable or a total bore

So, I’ve read the tea leaves; I’ve got to change
My mental approach I need to rearrange

Instead of couplets, should I write sonnets?
Or on every rhyme, put more spin on it?

I’m not sure, but something’s got to give
~ unless with a handful of readers I’m content to live

Premium Member C'mon Aussies '

Kepp it up now Aussies...Keep .on rocking
The boat...' As it stands; its only sinking.'

This country again, evenly to
Float.!!!

Premium Member shake spears house '

His old house is crumbling away..Speed- aged by a motorist..I do not make any play.'
Its on the register of old English buildings at risk.'
Estimates at dollars sixteen million to fix
Such very old sticks.' Which i think is exessive as
Its only built light' beams laths and clay tiles
Foundations rather slim, on average only nine
Inches, the earth deep in.' so that cost
 i see as really
Grim, nearly as obverblown? as is great appreciation of him."

MAKE THE GROUND SHAKE

DJ drop the beat — BOOM!
My heart answers — BOOM!
It’s not just the music hitting,
it’s my name echoing through the stage!
Lights flash —
Dust rises —
My feet strike like thunder!
Vester Step isn’t for the fearful,
it’s for the fire-blooded!
Every stomp is a statement:
I’m here!
I’m ready!
I refuse to be last!
Hear the crowd roar!
Feel the floor tremble!
The sweat on my forehead shines
like a medal before it’s even won!
This isn’t just dance…
This is energy!
This is confidence!
This is a movement revolution!
When I slide — it’s flames.
When I spin — it’s a storm.
When I jump — the sky opens wide!
You think you’ve got it?
Prove it!
You feel the beat?
Live it!
You hear your name calling?
TAKE THE STAGE!
Because Vester Step doesn’t wait for the timid —
it calls the bold!
Make noise!
Raise the heat!
MAKE THE GROUND SHAKE!!!

Sweet Nothings

Did you hear it? In the separation of my spirit
A bellowing from within
All my demons shake and quiver
And you befriended them
Their velvet gaze whispers
sweetly deception
Did you feel it?
The taking of my life
Kissed my wound and said you loved it
before you turned the knife
Did they trick you too?
Or was it always in you
To know just where to put it

Premium Member shake your boots

one warning about country living
no matter where you store your boots
turn them upside down and shake them before putting your foot in
sometimes you get a snake, sometimes a mouse
but you usually get something

Premium Member I can't shake the thought of you

I look up to the heavens
and recognize the telltale signs conspiring
to cast my thoughts on back to you ~
the marvelment of heart-shaped clouds
in the flush of day
and startlement of shooting stars
in the shade of night

Summoned

I thought I was in disguise
Once saw you in black
I just realized
Energy in your beauty is one pack
Even though I forgot my breakfast
My face started to crack
Smile and refresh
To the moon and back
Remembering your face
Convince me to shake

Premium Member Shake Your Shoes Out

Make sure you shake your shoes out before putting them on.
I once got bitten by something (I suspected a spider)
on the long toe of my left foot.
It swelled, itched, and throbbed on and off for three weeks.
I wasn't insured at the time
So, I self-remedied-mainly with ice, aspirin, and cheap spirits.

I'm insured now but rarely meet my deductible.
Always shake life out before you put it on.
Poison is the love of shadows and the unemployed.

Strong Shake

No one lives firm life
Ancient grass must also shake
At some point in time.

Invoke Change, Shake It's Hand

Close your dream filled eyes
Quiet your anxious, loud mind
Run wild from the intrusive taunts
Fixating, gossiping over you in silent,
Yet understood tongue.

Let the lies of yourself fall through
Unravel the programming stringing you along.
Step in surety, embrace the unknown
Befriend uncomfort - watch yourself grow.

Beneath your sadness and tears of dew
Rests a welcoming child your heart once knew.
Greet them in play, spark up a chat
Let dance the flow of life as it once was.

Invoke change, shake it’s hand
Say hello to strangers you may never know.
Spend days away from civil happenings
Only passable roads lie between you and freedom -
From all that is truly needed.
