We couldn't find God, because we've become too serious.

You couldn't find God, because you've become too serious.

You couldn't see her, even though she's everywhere.
I call your God her, and you're fast to correct it.
See how serious you've become?
Cuz even them, they don't care about their pronouns, titles.
But us human, we fight, we create 'movement' for such things.
See how serious we've become?

God is playful and creative.
He plays hide and seek,
Behind trees, clouds, mountains
In the eyes of the children,
and on their smile.
God is never serious.

We've built concrete structure, surrounded by walls, separated by fence, languages and religions.
And we call it the House of God, in all different names.
Our nations, our territory, our race...Don't we forget that the very foundation we are on, the Earth, it's part of his Kingdom?

God is never serious,
but don't we see, how serious we've become?

Premium Member I Once Was a Serious Poet

I once was a serious poet
rubbing my forehead ‘til it wrinkled
Scratched my beard night and day
spreading flakes of dandruff every which way

But then I had an epiphany
writing pop songs was ten times as easy
I limited my lyrics to ‘O, Baby’
the rest of my story ~ pure gravy

Won't you consider me a serious poet?
Just give me another try.
If you love me, but just don't show it,
then how long can you deny...

me of your adoring praise?
You must know how I long for it
through the lengthy nights and days,
and yet you say, "What is this sh*t?".

super serious war poem

bang, bang.
boom, boom.
ow.
the rifle bullets ripple and tear through the trenches.

bullets riddle my body, it hurts,
quiet literally, I'm in pain.
bullets run out in spurts.
fiery hot bullets rush my chest like a train.
ouch.

bullet ripping, running soldiers,
dodging bayonets, they raid our trench.
we run and hide behind a pile of boulders,
we camp 'til the end; rain downs the camp's drench.
dead.

Listen up, people of the town.
Hear what I am putting down.
Do not look down, do not deride
me when I fall on my fat backside.
Don't judge me by my polka-dot clothes,
my flappy shoes or my bulbous nose.
See now, a man of some renown,
where once, you saw a clown.

Today I asked a greenish feller,
"Why do you wear a propeller
on your head?"
This is what he said,
"It's transportation, not a toy.
I got the idea from Beanie Boy".

Premium Member rebrands

I’m declaring a personal rebrand.
I’ve a new personality at the beach.

On the way here (to Heraclee) - on the train
or the Uber - my ambitions and inhibitions
dissolved, without apology.

Frivolity is basal here, not some accessory -
we take our unseriousness seriously here.

If someone asks us about our plans,
we feel slightly attacked - what plans?
We left those behind, in Paris,
and we were happy to get rid of them.

I decided long ago, quite firmly, not to be miserable.
I’ve a real, stubborn insistence on joy.

After my first week here, I’ve practically forgotten AI panic,
crazy presidents, foreign wars and social media multipliers -
instead, I picked out matching pjs, cover-ups and string bikinis.

We have hard decisions to make though - even here - like,
‘Should we stare meaningfully at the ocean - or hookup?’

Premium Member Strictly Serious

was never my forte

neither was
studying science

beneath a bored
crescent moon

of common meaning
and Doritos

when anything else
would do

I am full of love
and passion
(misguided or not)

on your forgotten map
of hope and penguins
honest north

reason, rainforests,
and anacondas:
my south

land, canyons,
and echoing meaning:
direct west

East will sense its way
to water
the Atlantic
will never run dry,
or stop waving

Serious Business - CM

The brown wren trills;
He sings of love
and hope that thrills.

The ladies, "Tut!"
they shake feathers
at the mere thought!

Though he sings love
they aren't buying
what he's selling.

They heard sweet songs
before he sang
"Sweetie, you rang?"

When sunlight is nary an hour a day
and refuses to take the cold away

When green grasses, brown and withered
under mounds of snow fairly shiver

When the cave door is closed to all but the bear
and mice grow an extra layer of hair

The wise owl changes not his nocturnal routine

      Social critic, Gershon Wolf
has been known to joke and spoof
But at a meeting of TV execs today, he was dead serious
And here’s what he told them – if you’re curious

Where is wholesome TV programming today
        or something vaguely familiar anyway
We need family shows like ‘Andy of Mayberry’
where everyone teases and tortures ‘Poor Deputy Barney’

Or ‘Leave it to Beaver’ where Eddie Haskell steals every show
Kissing up to Ward and June, a sickeningly polite fellow
And how about ‘the Three Stooges,’ where real culture
is assaulted by three execrable humanoid vultures

Now, I hear one of you is bringing back ‘You Bet Your Life’
a show about a mean man’s negative outlook on life
Anyone game for Nazified fare like ‘Hogan’s Heroes’
or totally inept and stupid, ‘like Archie Bunker’s Zeroes’

Can't wait for the new 'Re-run Season'
Featuring Pee Wee Herman and Lassie! ~ 'tis bound to be pleasin'
