seizure of the moment

stark confusion had convulsed his wayward soul
when twilight unsettled the horizon’s tearful shadow

a silhouette invited to colour a rainbow
in order or chaos of reflection and suspense

with a juddering jolt thunder and lightening
arrested the lapsing moment for a reprieve

was it to be a display of new meaning at dawn
or dusk in a requiem of ultimate capitulation

HEY, IT WAS ONLY A SEIZURE, THE GUY LIVED DIDN’T HE?

I understand those people who say “this is a wonderful land”
“oh my, it’s simply gracious, graceful and grand”
Those are usually the ones whose house is their’s free and clear
They say, “happiness and wondrous things are offered to us right here”

The pages flipped as the words wrapped around my brain
Like a rainbowed hurricane
Faster the colors embedded inside of my head
While I shook in bed
An intake of breath
After I lay awake from my fitful rage
Locked in a cage
Stuck in an eternal dance of death
Demonic forces lay only waiting to be awakened.
