Sediment Poems

Its to your health I drink today
And you can drink to mine
If you feel better than ok
Whatever wine is fine
But there’s a sediment I see
Down at the bottle base
So shall I drink up to degree
That saves the same old taste?
How come the sediment appeared
Don’t ask, for I don’t know
You are my darling love, my dear
And you remain as so
You lost respect for me, so what
I have to do about it
You cannot tolerate a lot
What I can live without
So to the bottom I shall drink
You won’t take any care
You flopped a word, it had to sink
This sediment I share.

Premium MemberSediment Eddy

eddy's leftovers from - life's sediment-alley-time currents
-----------------------------------------------------------------

musing a roadside can
send a mental image of...

a sediment-alley time-traveler
stilled yet echoing past times...

in memorium of some time-current beats miss't
that changed an eddy to a send-a-mental tune...

lava spews red glow

angry flow casts fear-

boil sheds bitter truth

rock pool overflows

droplets mock shallow borders -

drenched tears surrender

waste land heaps anger

worms wiggle madness

leaps of treasures rise above

Sediment Layers

The silt accents with no regards, it works steady to cover the earth.
The only exception way up above, there it scatters where the prisms give birth.
Yet down here it only blankets and buries below.
When there's no decision, it truly just goes where it goes.
My desire is to go with the unknown, where there is just knowledge in bowls.
Why do you wish for what's in the water.
Down there is the burial of every old ship of slaughter.
So this ground we walk is in its own right damned.
Walk up on me and you'll be moshed and your face will be slammed.

Premium MemberCommon Sense Sentiment Sediment

Common sense saves the day when deliberation cannot find a way
An instinctive practical knowledge born of gut feelings.
Common sense - a rare inherent inbuilt wisdom, seldom called on, except as a last resort.
It is often cited after the event when reason and deduction has failed:
'Why not use common sense'? 'Do what most would do - It's just common sense!'
Uncommon sense becomes more reliable with age
It settles as sentiment sediment
from the sea of trials, tests and tribulations.

Candy-Coated Sediment

I thought I was complex...
Multifaceted, divinely complicated
But I was very, very mistaken
You read me like I was playing cards with my hand tattooed on my cheeks

I fell for your charm, your depth...
your candy-coated sediment
Fortunately you fell a bit short of your goal of destroying me
Luckily you hated yourself more than you hated me

I drove by your place today
Definitely tempted to kick that polished new headstone...
However I have on a great new pair of shoes and refuse to get them soiled by your candy-coated sediment

Sediment

sometimes to hold it together
it's better to leave it alone
to forgive and forget the heartache
and learn from what is known

can you file it all away?
or hide it under a rug
pretend it doesn't really matter
cast off with another shrug

wasn't a love worth saving
the time a total waste
when the glass is finally empty
with a bitter aftertaste

what becomes of the sediment
when to the bottom it falls
only to be stirred up
when these thoughts recall

I can live with all the doubt
I can live with what you missed
I can live without your love
and other things on the list

it changes my direction
a path you already took
you found what you were seeking
not so much as a second look
