Split my banana and stuff it with cream
top with tantalizing treats to extreme
nuts and silky sweetened balls
gooey toppings form seawalls
nothing left out of a lover's wet dream

The waves on the beach are
Gulping, slurping and chewing
At the sandy shoreline.
The ocean is voracious.
Inch by inch, foot by foot
It eats away our carefully mapped
Continents and islands,
Devouring great bites of
Seaside dunes and cliffs,
Reshaping the land in one place
Spitting out the sand in others
To fortify an island, to add
Wider and wider shores to a land
A thousand miles away.
We build seawalls and jetties,
We add revetments of stone,
But we cannot contain the sea,
Whose force can break
Great ships asunder.
From the sea rose the land,
And over millenniums, to the sea
It will finally return.
And we mortals, whose birthplace
Was the great salt ocean will
Also return from whence we came.
Will the sea itself then disappear
And all return to fiery solar dust?

Reflection after Oslo.
Summer fjords and inland lakes, forests and clean air.
Prosperous, the kingdom and future was bright, then
the killer struck and darkness descended. Why us?
We are peace loving people we are democrats and
embrace multi culturalism. But from the dark depth
of Europe’s soul there is a cry that cannot be stilled.
People who feel they have been invaded by an alien
culture and feel they are losing ground ( they are not)
that only violence and war can restore the old order.
Can you stop a tsunami? No, but you can built higher
seawalls. Can you stop an earthquake? No, but you can
build better and stronger houses and go on living.
Yet I fear an Armageddon the world is changing and
a new and better world order is arising, if we cannot grasp
this the west will sink into anarchy and bloodshed.
