There is a sense of one's own mortality,
in this brittle light of a cold winter's day.
There is a brave conspiracy,
That exclaims to be gay.

In this brittle light of a cold winter's day,
be not deceived by any brilliant leaf of red,
exclaiming to be gay.
For life swings by a slender thread.

Be not deceived by any brilliant leaf of red.
The fire will wane and turn to dust.
For life swings on a slender thread,
and I must know this,....know and trust

The fire will wane and turn to dust.
The bow of life's eternal form is bent,
and I must know this,....know and trust,
It is meant to be, with no relent.

The bow of life's eternal form is bent.
There is a brave conspiracy.
It is meant to be, with no relent.
There is a sense of one's own mortality.

Fall Sunset

The fiery orange glow reminds me
The dusk sky is beautiful tonight
Will light the jack-o-lantern early
Crisp air encourages hugs just right

Your smile in the soft light warms my heart
Like joyous rapture entwined with you
The peace I feel radiates in part
The grand celestial displays in view

As the sun departs it's light in kind
All night creatures appear, bats and such
World within a world, under a vine
Snuggled close our hearts, hands and souls touch

Sunset sky in fall air, crisp and cool
That huggly, snuggly season of ghouls!

Mother Nature

Clouds begin to roll in
Winds begin to blow
Here comes Mother Nature
She'll be putting on a show

She may bring along some thunder
Or some lightning to light the way
And one thing you can count on
She'll show up at any time of day

Her storms can vary greatly
from light mist to torrential rains
She may even bring tornados
Which I'm told sound like freight trains

Here in Missouri you will hear people say
If you dont like the weather now
just stick around
Tomorrow's another day
