Autumn
A northwest breeze gently caresses my face,
and nine days linger until first day of fall.
Each change of seasons I readily embrace,
I see cascading leaves and hear Geese that call.
winter
Then comes winter with it’s seasonal blast,
when often, tree branches, wear winter attire.
Frequently this season leaves me downcast,
but the smouldering fire becomes my pacifier.
spring
Then buds sprout and grass begins to green,
spring always brings with it new birth.
I watch songbirds as they sing and preen,
and plant things that grow in God’s rich earth.
Summer
Summer is the season of some harsh extremes,
a sweltering heat index often affects my inhaling.
It conjures up my visions of rippling streams,
each season becomes a portrait God’s unveiling.

In the springtime of my life,
I hear the birds, singing delight
Crooning the hope through my worst strife,
Silencing shadows with sweetest insight
In the summertime of my life,
I hear the whisper of leaves, alive
Telling a story of when I’m filled with strife
Pouring out hope, assured I’ll survive
In the autumn of my life,
I hear the music of stars at twilight,
Revealing the music of hope despite strife
Rising in victory, the music He’ll write
In the winter of my life,
I hear the praise of each sunrise
Coloring my world beautiful despite the strife
When death comes, there’ll be no surprise
In the days that leave me unsure,
I hear the beautiful of a God who is true
And I know, all this fear and doubt I’ll endure,
Knowing that my heart, He will surely renew!
Buds burst spring colors beneath blue skies,
fragrant lure beguiles butterflies.
With swoosh, swish, buzz, chirp, chatter and trills
Birds, bees and me, gush with Spring's thrills
Quiet, restful Summer took us venturing
the season that matured from early Spring.
But now it's facing change, adventuring
to the stage that bends to Autumn's call.
Blissfully canceling direction, enters Fall
to soon create new glories all its own,
as Summer's pastel colors overhaul
to golden, burnished hues new days will bring.
Air becoming cooler, daylight even fades
as the sun sets earlier each day.
Landscapes turn to ash till each pervades
bright Autumn leaves that fall from every tree.
Left meandering near open places, quilts
of colored leaves grace the withered lawns;
while naked tree trunks stand like waiting stilts-
to sleep in Winter and awake next Spring.
Brisk falling temperature
Blue sky turning into a soothing gray
Hinting of Winter snowflakes
Shorter days with early nightfall
Spring bulbs hibernate in the cooling soil
Birds gathering in pine trees at night for warmth
Searching for bird feeders during the day
Leaves falling creating a multi color carpet on the ground below
Fireplaces scenting the outside air with a sweet smokey smell
Attention turning inward
Sweater weather
The smell of hearty meals fills the house
Sleeping on flannel sheets
Enjoy all the fall changes
PONDERING THE SEASONS
(Apropos Of Our Nation’s Seasons)
After Autumn's falls, Winter is like war;
And Spring seeks to bring about resurrection:-
Summer prepares all for nature’s transitions:
Today, it looks like an autocratic Winter is coming:-
Cloudless skies endless,
gardens blooming in colors,
summer solstice warm_
Love a picnic in the shade,
and lazy long forest walks !
Until trees let go,
of their lovely decayed leaves,
to dance, fly and prance_
I love collecting those leaves,
in the autumn's equinox !
Then, comes biting winds,
and lacy snowflakes falling,
winter solstice ice_
Cold walks with fireplaces to warm,
'till spring equinox divine !
Sweetly
comes spring
with rain
and sun;
nature
is so
alive
Hotter
days make
me laze.
I thrill
to feel
summer
arrive.
Autumn
brightly
adorns
trees and
cool nights
lengthen
out then.
Snow drifts
aglow;
winter
brings cold
till spring
returns
again.
autumn tints garden
flushed flowers wither and fall
they return in spring
to sapling of yearning heart
life blooms with luster of love
petals of roses
waft patina in spring air
like hue of your luscious lips
quiver with my longing lilt
unsaid words float in fragrance
mist melts from blue sky
buds burst colors in garden
air wafts floral scent
enthralled by surreal scene
beauty of spring beguiles me
Outside
at dawn
I sipped
coffee
loving
the light
cool breeze.
Before
mid-morn
the wind
was hot.
So fast
the cool
air flees.
Though I
prefer
autumn
and spring,
there's joy
in all
seasons.
God gave
to each
unique
traits. To
praise all,
we have
reasons.
BRUTAL COLD DAY EARLY FEBUARY
Almost as cold as the week before
Six feet of snow fell late in January
Please Mr. Winter, let it snow- No more
BEAUTIFUL COLORED DAISYS EMERGE FREQUENTLY
Mostly throughout the season of spring
When most everything is green- completely
When eggshells break and birdies sing
BEACH CARNIVALS DELIGHTFUL ENJOYABLE FUN
Young ones playing games outside
Sunbathers tanning 'neath the sun
A nice time for a summertime ride
BEAR CUBS DIE EVERY FALL
I found one dead out on my range
One died last year too, if I do recall
Must be something to do with climate change
Fragrant
spring blooms
swaying
in breeze
invites
insects
to sip
Sizzling
summer
weather
makes you
want to
take a
cool dip
Autumn
colors
blazing
brightly
with leaves
of red
and gold
Winter
brings us
snowflakes
freezing
weather
its breath
is cold
may concedes to june
when spring rebirth is complete
the time to mature -
grassy hills turn verdant green
blossoms explode with color
july soon refines
june's promise of fulfillment
expanding its gifts -
fuller and vibrant glory
paints the mature summertime
late august moves in
heading towards surrender
come autumn's flurry -
fading greens and colors hush
on their way to winter sleep
