It was neither my first nor my last,
But it was unique and very different.
Sudden, strong, brief, and memorable.
Some 'Suddenly Things' are better than plans.
Some unforgettables were never meant for us.
And certain 'Brevities' are truly life savers.
It was much stronger than any before or after.
Soon after, there was a family emergency,
and she flew away to Puerto Rico. Our
relationship never got off the ground,
ending before it barely began.
A few years later, we saw each other on a
city bus and looked at each other as the
strangers we were. We both knew that
Through those years, it was over. I can't
speak for her, but I sense that we both
knew that it was meant to be that way.
My best recall says it happened way back in the
summer of 1969. I shall long remember that
one dark summer night, just the two of us,
away from the Chicago city lights, we kissed.
It was a kiss of a lifetime that took off like
a rocket but quickly burned out.

It was near a river named Yuba
and a little town named Rough and Ready.
No. It was not dark.
It was the heart of the day.
There were no streets, dead ends, or otherwise.
There was simply a dirt road that led somewhere,
But 'dead-end to me', as per my onboard brain-computer.
The street lights were not broken.
It was rural, and there were no lights.
No. I was not afraid; just concerned and frustrated.
I was looking for 'shortcuts and time savers' but found neither.
In the middle of 'nowhere', I soon turned around and got back
on the main road. Short-cut hunt? Quickly abandoned.
Back roads and back fields? Beware and be weary.
Lesson learned? Not all shortcuts are created equally.

COMPARTMENTALIZATION
Friends, absolutely believe why
not in the “Loony Bin?
Compartmentalized my stresses,
so messes … not get in!
Compartments help me remember,
one illness at a time.
Must do cause, "nine" problems have, not
about to loose ... my mind!
Compartments, real life savers, now
one job at time, tackle.
Improved old age focus, glad
husband … didn't spackle.
Compartmentalize medications
if don't, embarrassed be.
Took water pills, before party,
oops … in “Depend’s” did pee.
Doc’s now compartmentalize, which
body part they'll inspect.
Last visit showed my sagging boobs,
examine ... was for my neck!
Crucial to compartmentalize, must
do each week heard some say.
Might put off till tomorrow, cause
tomorrows ... another day.

Would you take a chance with coarse anomy:
A folk with dreams like yours tag an enemy?
A partaker does hurt vibrant economy,
Dropped farms for power: Poorest Agronomy…
Rivals to get rid of with shameful hustles,
Paid full cash silencers who love their rustles:
I’ve long learnt to think of all power tussles
As “For the wrong reasons flexing one’s muscles.”
On the African scene badly burnt car,
Owner politician with its rude scar,
Life savers much afraid he would not go far.
“They might finish him off in some lone bar!”
Times it meant with cash, asking that one step down
But mostly with weapons to forget The Crown,
Bizarre shoot-outs and scuffles in a calm town,
In the end wasting Senators Charles and Brown…
Stark evidence one can’t targets deliver,
His subjects to meet with enclosing river;
One would only be worsening the fever:
The merely interested in Gold and Silver…
Yes, not at all times take one to the Tower,
Sometimes, hands one over to Grave with flower;
From oneself one takes away easeful hour,
A crazy idea: one hour in bower..
Like games greatly checked by youth-crushing age;
One shouldn’t in one’s seventies open the page.

Their playing with their clocks again
Their playing with their flags
Their saying your mortality
has no more time than lags
Their offering up your screen savers
and offering up your lives
Their praying for your wallpaper
in all the time that thrives
They'll send you little icons
They'll send you your emoji's
You'll wonder if you're still ideal
and not just one more boggie

Breathe easier and healthier because Autumn has arrived.
Rest O ye weary soul; relax and take a walk through golden lanes.
Easy does it, stretch at high noon; exhale and chill with the sunset.
Autumn leaves are preparing to leave, but not before their golden display.
Take it in, tell a friend, and an enemy too if you have one; all eyes open!
Heaven has no comparison, no rivals, but Autumn is running second.
Tune out the Summer; she's gone and won't be back for several months.
Air conditioners, gifts from God, life-savers, but Autumn bids them farewell.
Kites aren't just for kids; they are feeling the wind as well as anybody.
In my opinion, at least where I abode, it doesn't get better than Autumn.
Nights are coming sooner; the light is compassionate toward the darkness.
God sets the seasons, and when I see trees in Fall, I simply say, "Behold my Father, The Painter".

At the end of a meal, we take all that is left,
Wrap it up to consume the next day,
With the cycle repeating until all that food
Is devoured, but not thrown away.
Same with sewing a project – what fabric remains
When the quilt or the pillow’s complete,
Joins the remnants from previous stitchings I’ve made
So the next time, their patterns I’ll greet.
There are those who are savers and those who are not
But no matter which side you’ve embraced,
If you toss out your leftovers – fabric or food,
You have wasted what must be replaced.

look at a tree long enough, you will know everything about God, understanding how the stars where put in the sky, gain wisdom to know that the souls inside us are the most high, to return to the love we came from how, we must remember our true self's, remember our wealth, at the end of the day all you got is yourself, love yourself and your people cause this world is evil, looking threw the eye of God, I can really see what there, brothas killing brothas Cain and Able, the America has us do for one days food on our table, it's our destiny to be free, it's more of us then them, seek unity with u and me we need equality, my race is God and for that reason our world was destroyed by Arabs and Europeans, that came to Africa seeking free labor and sexual favors, when it comes to America black people are the engraver and life savers of this country.

The Fallen
He kneels before an granite stone
As if before a throne
He dreams of days of yesteryear
But glad, now he is home
So many lads, had stayed behind
To never leave the field
And though their bodies, are lying here
Their spirits never yields
He see them as, they were back then, Young and strong and brave
Not what lie beneath this stone, Below this grassy grave
He knows they, are still on guard, He counts them all, as kin
And savers every day at home
Until he joins them, once again
He wipes away a single tear
As he stands up tall and straight
Remembering that dear young boy
And his final fate
Although many years go by
And his brother has to wait
He promises it won't be long
Till he meets him at the gates

IMP-EACH-MENT-AIR-DITTY III !
Holy Smoke ! Odour of incense on Beach !
Trainers marched with saddles to straddle Leech !
« SILENCE ! » Dull as Thunder !
« Under pain of locker ! »
Grave mist hung low on Life-Savers each !
CJOTUS kept clock arms for each to preach
Who summoned Founding Fathers onto Beach !
« This race is no Trial !
Draw horse blood in phial !
Drink ! » said Chief Life-Saver Nation to teach !
Coast-Guard in Cloak-Rooms begged bets to reach
The magic number to put to sleep Teach
« Hold back horses until
All bets are in the till !
I’ll let none throw law-books on my Leech ! »
Indicted Jockey rode-off bareback on Leech !
To save face while saddled Life-Savers preach:
« No Nuts ’n Bolts-on, please !
This fake Trial must cease ! »
Come November who’ll lose this race on Beach ?

Mister Dan and his family members
Had a seven-day restful vacation;
They went to the beach in Balingasay,
To feel the beauty of the blue ocean.
Many travelers spent the days with fun,
Taking fine pictures, building sand castles;
Parents and children swam in the vast sea,
Tourists took a walk as they picked some shells.
Mister Dan witnessed an emergency,
So did the alert and quick life-savers;
Mother and her child were carried away
By the angry waves in open waters.
The happiness turned into utter fear,
Because the nature became odd and wild;
People cried for help beneath the heaven,
Mister Dan had saved neither mom nor child.
