Jaipur

In the state known as the Land of the Kings
Is the city I belong to , the city my heart is within
Where royalty and regalty is in the air
Tales of Bravery and Heroism everywhere

The princely state , adorned with many cities
Rich Wildlife adding to the diversity
Home to the oldest mountain range : Aravali
Rajasthan is name of the state so godly

The city I live in , is called the pink city
Named after the color of hospitality
Known for its Pottery , Paintings and Jewellery
Leheriya and Bandhani sarees exhibiting feminity

Art and culture portraying vibrancy
Serving mouth watering palatable delicacies
Jaipur is known as the Island of Glory
The history of valor it gallantly carry

Sacred temples with their divinity
Forts and Palaces depicting surreal beauty
Emboiding with pride - the Rajputana ancestry
This is land soaked with the blood of victory

Premium MemberAs a Man, You Would Not Understand

I asked my wife, what is the purpose of the married life,
She answers philosophically, " The goal is to turn Mr. Wrong into Mr. Right".

I asked my wife, why you need so many dresses and sarees,
You only wear them once and pile them high in antiquity,
It is not the dress, but what goes in the dress, defines the beauty,
Her answer, "As a man, you would not understand".

I wondered aloud, why it takes your so long to get dressed for a party,
If you had only a few dresses, you would be not so confused,
Why get color coordinated, men can spot the beauty even in rags,
She replied, "as a man, you would not understand."

When I ask my wife a question, I often wonder,
Should I ask in positive or negative sense,
I am afraid the answer will be the opposite of what I say,
As a man, I agree, I do not understand.

This is the day,
that we tribute to Farmers as 'TAMILAN',
our Culture, Dhoties for men

shows the best talented to Worldwide.
we must throw our sorrows to otherside,
Happiness is like as Sweet as Sugarcane,
We celebrate this day,
with our neighbour together,
Till the end it goes forever.

Premium MemberA Look At Us

Look at the colors of us, in this place called United States.
See the many kinds of us.
Hear the beauty in our tongues.
Watch the wind kissed sarees and the pride of Kinte cloth.
Under the eagle we stand, together as one in the US,
always reassured at the sight of stars and stripes.

Look at the country of US, that touches from ocean to ocean.
Praise God for plentiful bounty over a land so precious,
waving wheat, budding fruit and lakes abounding with trout.
All a harvest to support the souls here in the US.
There is no difference between one or another.
All hearts hold fast to the dreams in the US.

Look at the rainbow of us-the rich, poor, children, the homeless,
the gay, White, Latino, Native American, African American, immigrants…………
The list is endless for us in the land of freedom and liberty.
See us, we the people, all the people of the US,
daily declaring their place and promise from the US.

Weavers

Shakespeare’s Bottom is a weaver,
     Spider is a weaver,
      Weaver bird is a weaver
Nature and God are interwoven for ever.

  Threads are woven into sarees
Wool is knitted as sweaters,
Bamboo is braided as baskets,
Marvels of creators.

Each strand gets life by a weaver,
Ornate twine blooms from beaver,
Artefacts add more colour in the life,
Outfits get glove fit in the life.

Weavers are bearers; weavers are savers;
Weavers are like busy bees
Hands and fingers toil to give us honey.

God is a weaver with a string
Puppets sing/dance and plait
As the weavers hand do might
Move off, if the string do stop
God can make us hop, drop and stop.

My Mothers White Saree

MY MOTHER’S WHITE SAREE
The cupboard contained white garments,
Pure white sarees with brightness
No colours to dim its brightness
Wondered and worried why always in white sarees
Humble mom, simple mom, educated mom,
Became tragic heroine in her life span
Gave birth to four kids; grew widow at an early age
Felt frustrated, seeing in white saris
All the dreams swept away, as it was fate
Could not fight against destiny
Darkness became a nightmare
Tears were absorbed by pillows
It dried my mom’s energy
Physically, mentally and spiritually
Aspirations changed the fate
Getting rid of black holes
A way to meaningful life
Survived all these and nurtured, looked after,
Cared, loved& led the young kids
I am proud of my mom’s white saris
The purity mom charity mom always in white sarees
Aged 85 still in white sarees
Symbol of peace &sweet memories for my dad
God’s grace mom’s presence is a blessing like a heaven

I am proud of my mom’s white saris, the great mom world ever seen.
Care &love parents, and uproot the old age home.

Generation Gap

They copied but we xerox
Our forefathers wrote letters,
Youngsters e-mail
Women were disheveled, disarmed,
Girls model, parlour, potter
Females rinsed,
Eves today mix, swish, swash,
Sagacious scholars counted on fingers,
eggheads now compute them
Birthdays were forgotten,
Today grand celebrations, cheer, spank
Dhotis, kurtas, sarees, blouses prevailed
Now Jeans and Tops , Mobiles and Masterminds
Distance conquered, world has been so piffling
a place to exist in
Gulfs within minds have been abominable
Dismembered, mangled, Crushed souls
Divided, partitioned, psyche; no unity of Being.
