The ‘wise one’ won the race, for, he thought,
Yet, what with a better-thinking bot,
Would man stay wise for long?
Or give up by the gong?
In a spot of two minds as he's caught,
In future, Descartes
Might say something like this:
AI bots, man’s no longer so hot.

Poet’s note: Philosopher Rene Descartes said: Cogito ergo sum (I think therefore I am). This set the *****Sapiens (literally, wise man) apart in the evolutionary race. But as of late, what with AIs taking over from him, doing all he could and better, would man still remain as the wise one? Or AI will prove to be the wiser one? This ditty apprehends.

Fire gave us power right at the door,
Farming made us hungry for more,
Money gave us ungoverned greed,
And science, such a deadly breed!
Our brief his’try from beastly apes
To species that learnt spoken word,
Sovereign that rules the whole world,
Then back to brutes that Ma Earth rapes.
One step perhaps from back to caves,
His’try repeats from birth to graves,
On verge of destroying our dome,
Back to base, a full round to roam!

The old body of weather fears,
The soul falls in decay.
The guilty are the years,
That rushed from you away.
The soul ages with the body
While ending its living span.
Life is amazing and Godey.
Hold on while you live, man!
You'll be buried when you part
Or, perhaps, recalled someday.
Or driven out of the heart.
You can't regain the past way.
Our world is of a diverse kind
And you must live in and strife.
The Lord gave you spirit and mind.
Save them till the end of life!

They call us *****sapiens which is Latin for wise man
but I don’t think we’re as wise as those who labeled us had planned..
If you look at the world we ‘wise’ men have created…
which is leading to our demise….
not only have we not acted human…
but we’ve been anything but wise.
So perhaps the time of the wise man is over.
Perhaps there are better times ahead
if we retire the term *****sapiens
and use Sapiens Mulier instead…
I think we’ve given the wise man his chance…
It’s time to bid his reign adieu…
It’s now time for the wise woman
to show what she can do.
*****sapiens…we did our best
But we set the bar too low…
Sapiens Mulier…it’s your turn
to see how high that bar can go.

Lived eighty-three years, seen the good and bad
But it couldn't have been better, the time I've had
In spite of turmoil back then and now

*****sapiens is that race
with a very high intelligence;
no, it didn't originate in space,
no, aliens never took residence!
If on the farthest planets there is
a new species, it's quite impossible
they will reach us in a thousands of years,
or less; but for now it's simply unthinkable!
Even science can't prove aliens exist,
human imagination is greatly influenced
by fiction writers who tap into their fantasy;
don't' be frightened by this fickle mentality.
No extraterrestrial spaceship ever landed
on our soil and declared it their conquest!
Mankind did not evolve from either fish or monkeys,
it's a false theory that conflicts with the biblical creation;
scientists mar it with the pathetic thought of evolution...
where in the animal kingdom is found a brain like ours?

Humanity’s first born child
Sits, wondering what to do
First Africa, then the world, the seven seas
And then space - the final frontier
He’s the first in line for world domination,
But first he’s got to put the competition
To extinction
A lion never apologised,
For being majestic
Nor will a blue whale ever,
For being gigantic,
But for being human however,
I am apologetic
The burden of knowing,
The gift of dreaming,
Of loving,
Tragic
On a quest for subsistence
An ape stumbled upon reason
And evolved logic
To escape the prehistoric
Ironic
We came down from the trees,
To go up skyscrapers
And formulated mathematics
To go supersonic
Into a space age so scientific
Magic
We the Philosophers,
Poetic
World War I needed a sequel,
Dramatic
To impact on our conscience,
Neurotic
Or did it?
Psychotic
So we his offsping have conquered,
Prolific
We the party animals,
Problematic
We the immortals,
Titanic

Some say aliens inhabited the earth
Before *****sapiens appeared
Pretty sure some are still living among us
Been running the country for years
Some of these yahoos are out of this world
With no correlation to reality
“We the people” was a great new idea
Though it surely dates back to antiquity
The patsies we are, we go with the flow
Don't rock the boat that's for sure
If only someone would stand up and yell
“We ain't gonna take it no more!”
At seventy-seven not too many to go
Won't waste my remaining breath
Conserve it for much more important stuff
Like cheering the Blue Jays till death
Some say aliens inhabited the earth
Before *****sapiens appeared
Wish I could journey back to those times
But that ain't gonna happen I fear
