Altho' I didn't study for my Rorschach test
when the proctor a doctor a shrink
evaluating my perception in search of insight
to discover what I might really think
handed me ten pictures on a card
I took a long hard look
then knew exactly what I did see
and did not blot my copybook
as often what you're gazing at
is simply (on the dot) precisely that
so it was not difficult at all
personally from where I sat
to pass with flying colours
and unravel this Gordian Knot
it wasn't a butterfly moth or bat
sometimes an inkblot is just an inkblot

The morning mist upon the lake,
Unfolds my story, no mistake.
A canvas of the mind it seems,
A Rorschach test of life and dreams.
The misty veil that lies ahead,
Conceals the path that I must tread.
But in its haze, a glimpse I see,
Of what my future holds for me.
The ripples on the water face,
Reflect on my journey, time, and space.
The ups and downs, the twists turned,
The lessons learned, the bridges burned.
The misty shroud that hovers near,
A mirror of my hopes and fears.
A gentle breeze blows the way,
A sign that I must snatch the day.
The morning mist upon the lake,
A reminder of the choices I make.
To chart my course with purpose true,
And let my dreams adopt wing and soar anew.

Photographs are memories of life developed in dark rooms of reflection
Exposure and fixation for a moment and beyond
A couple holding firm their togetherness covered in aquamarine hues
Blue focus a moon the earth horizon and foothold
Some of them require no more than an aperture and infinite moment
Whichever way you turn them they shed intricate light
The centre remains where all angles meet regardless of perspective
Like a Rorschach Test with one half missing
Azure Cyan and Sapphire shades condensed on a palette in motion
A kiss and embrace hanging from film clips waiting to dry
Stop bath fixer and final rinse then reality immortalizes another illusion
Cerulean dreams held by intimate clouds and lips intertwined
A picture in which artist and models change positions and convergence
Glimpse of concern and subtle impermanence
Turquoise surrender and teal skies as comets lie in passionate waiting
Spectre and shadows solemnly overcast and yet translucent
Captured on chromogenic paper and free as the stars nevertheless
A picture holds pure truth while the Universe shifts

The image, at a fourth remove, recalls a Rorschach test with inverse rule because instead of spotted ink on paper simulating flowers and/or butterflies here we have flowers and butterflies simulating spots in a sort of blurred space. My mind is puzzled by this strange test recalling times at school when I had to solve problems without understanding why.
I want the horse of fantasy to ride
To unravel this inverse Rorschach test
And win the art and poetry contest
By showing of my spirit the best side.
Were the image colors made just from ink
Dispersed on the paper at random way?
This origin of shapes is hard to say,
So we must find for them another link.
Why a butterfly white on that flower?
I think is there to make me much confused
About the way its shape was there produced
Giving the Rorschach test inverse power.

A fellow site member by the name of Lee
submitted a poem looking a little strange to me.
It was a delightful composition written for Debbie.
It appears the shape of a bell this work would take.
However, Lee told me it was a birthday cake.
Many “shape” poems have appeared on this site.
They have been submitted both day and night.
There are so many ideas those shapes can invite.
Many writers here have been creatively blessed.
Shape poems sometimes can be like a Rorschach Test.

I am a flower that blooms in spring.
I am the crown of a queen or king.
I am a butterfly, spreading its wings.
I am an aspect of all of these things.
I am dark blood on the virgin snow.
I am that soup-stain that just won’t go.
I am the shadow that always shows.
I am that one thing that everyone knows.
I am the Earth and the Moon and the Sun.
I am the bullet, the barrel, the gun.
I am a steak dinner, or tea and buns.
I am the truth from which everyone runs.
I am your favourite colour, or blue.
I am that sweet dream that never comes true.
I am your monster and I am your muse.
I am the Rorschach test therapists use.
