Like T.S Eliot
I will not sleep tonight
or consider the imaginary
dreams.
They are the ones
I didn’t have.
Insomnia isn’t a poem
or a present, for lighter
beings,
who bend like daisies,
when the wind blows
in the aggressive Spring.
February
forgot how to spell itself
along with the teacher
who earns less
than her worth
on Earth.
I learned how to spell
ribbet today.
I still learn things,
teaching Pre-K.
Ribbet Snibbet Cribbet all the way down to Dublin Town
There hopped a chubby dotted frog who never wore a frown
He was excited to be invited to sup Gray tea with Saint Pat
Who gave him a thump on his arm so dotted and phat
I like you a lot, St. Pat said to the corpulent frog.
You are one of my besties, almost as good as my dog.
Of course, who else could be as good as a dog in this bog?
The frog knew the next runner up was his good friend the hog.
The day my broom bopped me on the head
Was the day I left it in a ditch in my homestead.
Some idiot came by and scooped it up as treasure.
I ran out there and threw in a mop for good measure.
The mop got dug out too, for the witch was in her cups.
She thought she had some buried treasure; her name was Mrs. Hups.
I had seen her before; she is a hoarder on the block.
The rats run out of her house when she leaves her door unlocked.
Where do you think she’ll put it? A neighbor asked me.
You know where it could go? I suggested with a bit of glee.
The next thing I knew she’d used the broom as a wand.
I was ribbet-ing now, sitting in a filthy pond.
Mistaken Identify
Jerri had a funny doggie
Who saw his shadow. Yep, so scary!
Barked, “Ribbet”. Sounded froggie?
Jumped high to fly. Would not tarry!
Ran home to nap. Did exit groggy!

a frog is real lit
jumping and croaking all day
ribbet, ribbet, go.

Rabbit,Badger and Ribbet the Frog.
Once upon a time in the cold land of bog
lived a Rabbit, a Badger and Ribbet the Frog.
Now you might think it odd in the cold land of bog
A Rabbit and Badger living with Ribbet the Frog.
But the King of the Castle he had three sons.
All fat and lazy didn't get much done.
So the King of the Castle got angry one day.
He decided it's time to send them away.
He called his Magician to cast out a spell
and send them to exile, so no-one could tell.
So early one morning the Castle surrounded in fog
he made up his Potion to convey them to the cold land of bog.
So goes the tale of the King and his sons
on the Kings command under Magicians spell
three sons sent to exile where no-one could tell.
Cast out afar in the cold land of bog
were Rabbit, Badger and Ribbet the Frog.
