Resorted Poems

To thee, O Life

Many have resorted to thee—
Those that to need of flesh may heed,
And love to call it spiritual—
Quiet that to crave of flesh feed.

Yet, poor little neglected soul
Stays mute though ever insatiate
(The flesh whilst gets forever fed)
In this life for a true soul mate.

Comes then time when the flesh gets old,
And nor in need nor in want is,
Man aware of the need of soul
Late on eve of life, of soul’s bliss.

Just as a lamp tends to burn bright
In last bursts of life’s utter blight.

Water in a Dry Land

A mental landscape of shifting sand dunes.
an intimation that something may be worth writing,

A scrabbling creature crawls bedraggled out from
a saturated darkness.

A Scarab beetles shadow takes hesitant form.

Watch as words ripple above infertile ground,
see how serpentine they flow.

Yet another poem about Creation is arriving.

Adam is sewing pants out of banana leaf's
for Eve.
The young man is jealously aware,
that the googly-eyed monkeys
are eyeing her nubile libido.

Early days in the Garden; Eve is making
mud cakes, they have yet to figure out
how to eat manna.

The scarab beetle, has resorted
to scratching hieroglyphics,
for words alone are no going to complete,
this arid revelation.

Something may be worth,
transcribing - maybe.

Perhaps this envisioning
will find fresh water in a dry place.
The white page has a blank face for a reason.

There once was a sickly blue jay named blue
He was struggling with the dreaded bird flu
He loved to dance and sing
And a crowd it would bring
Until he " achoo-ed", his fans then flew

There once was a picky beaver named Bob
Always searching to find the perfect log
Chewed many trees as he could,
Toppled piles of rotted wood
Until the huge wood pile dried up his bog

Fred adopted a new cat to kill mice
And thought new cat mouser Sam would suffice
When the first mouse appeared
He saw Sam run off scared
Then he knew why Sam was so cheaply priced

Leroy was a young owl who could not hoot
Luckily he was talented and cute
But at nighttime his new song
Sounded whimsically wrong
When he resorted to playing a flute

The Ultimate Time Waster

If you are into time wasting,
Sooner or later you will find yourself flicking,
Although in the in the early days of TV there were reasons for stopping,
As there were programs that were quite exciting,
Enough, to quell the urge to take up flicking,
As a means of time wasting,

Then the number of channels started increasing,
With their content becoming more and more boring,
And flicking carrying on into the morning.

Then we got to learn computing,
Which meant more time wasting,
And more choices and places to enjoy flicking.

But it was not until someone started blogging,
And people could make a living,
Out of bragging about their following,
That flicking,
Won the the ultimate prize for time wasting,
And our intelligence really started deteriorating,
As we are now texting,
Messages about TV Programs, on computers, we have been watching,
And blogs we have been streaming,
All without an ending,
Because we have resorted to flicking,
The ultimate form of time wasting,
That I only see increasing.

Lahaina leveled.. We see and hear; official tears
And maybe smears?? Melted glass temp 2000c.!
Yet plastic bins survived and also many trees?
(Thiugh dead inside?) one right
Above where two houses stood, metal car rims melted,
Things dont look; like they should.? Some firefighters
Say they have never worked..' And seen this kind of stuff
In spoteaneous events, so whats) or whos at work?? On
Some fiveteen fires this patterns been seen.' Not just
Random stuff, glad there are some out there keen. To see
What others arn't reporting.' Like garbage cans missing yet
No pools of plastic, to such lengths of searching they have
Resorted.' I hear the guvernor has passed ( a no sunshine
Law?) Its to block inhabitants reporting.? That must get
Them sore..' So many lost familiy lives and homes, when
They need compassion to recount.' To attempt a closure.?
Yet they find that opportunity (is owned?) I cant reconcile I
Can't apply usual values here: is it just absurd to even try?

Black and Blue

I have always lived in a gray area.
Weary of the red tape
I ever resorted to white lies,
That only made me
the black sheep of my family.

Laziness Breeds Gloominess

If laziness gets a fair chance
One can never at all advance

If health must be kept intact
Exercise must be the act

Prayer is the curing pill
Peace in mind it will fill

When a prayer is made
True bliss will pervade

If prayer is resorted to
The best God will do

When duty is pending
Upon you it is depending

First complete it soon
Make it a full Moon

Duty that fetches riches
Will surely remove hitches

If a work is available
Surely life is bailable

Work is indeed great worship
Creating with God a relationship

Always enjoy doing sacred duty
It connects you with holy Divinity.

The Time Between the Seasons

 When the time is right,
smiles form so effortlessly,
the light illuminates beyond the night,
as bodies begin to dance, graciously.

In weary waits, we yearned for happiness,
for pain painted pictures on our skins.
It made a home out of our emptiness,
we often resorted to shameful sins.

Since clouds have cleared the gray skies,
rain showers like delayed blessings.
A time for forgiveness, peace with no lies,
gratitude is the order of our new beginnings.

Unseen

She was transparent by choice
gold and silver slivers
wisped through her less
grass never bent or broke
upon her lightness of foot
breeze settled on her frame tamed
stars pointed to her
with expressions of wonder
sun light in jealous blazed
to burn her beauty
she contorted
like knotted swan necks
grasping at mist
that stayed in hand too long
resorted by her resource
clouds would crowd
straining for a glimpse
rays of light defiant in their nature
nuzzled and with tepid tendrils
held a moment of her moment

In Descise

My second grade grandson’s a writer,
His stories creative and fun,
With spelling that’s just as creative
As the story he’s joyfully spun.

Most often I’m quick to decipher
The words that I don’t understand
But sometimes I’m stymied by letters
Not quite what the books would demand.

So today I resorted to asking
What word was in front of my eyes.
The obvious answer (to someone)
Was, “Nana - of course, it’s disguise!”

In a toxic environment we’re being forced to live,
and in the name of social justice we rewrite history.
We dwell on past wrongs while refusing to forgive,
and many is the time we’ve resorted to sophistry.

We no longer extend the hand of kindness to others,
and we busy ourselves daily, inspecting others fruit.
Because each person has his or her own druthers,
each sunrise always brings something else to dispute.

I Can'T But Will Wait

the date
it wasn't
random oh
no WE had a

planned on
schedule that
would put us in
front of each other

in an
airport
but we
resorted

to finding
our flying
times and
matching

like the "Dating
Game" what was
ideal so that when
we would feel we'd

be so real
be surreal

my smile would
equal hers but
hers would be
blinding so

it would seem
but deep down
i'm sort of kind
of like hanging

on a ledge with
one finger or
like Lloyd
not at all

just play ball
and do you
want strikes
or walks

or i could
even try
a bunt
but

shant

Fake News 2

To discredit those having dissenting views,
Cable News has resorted to reporting “fake news.”
These fabricated stories that shame the truth,
Are nurtured by those, both arrogant and uncouth.

The thought of a scoop must trump stupidity,
So, many won’t fact check to verify validity.
Some are reporting things knowing they’re a lie,
But things never change without a public outcry.

Anything goes just improve the Nielsen rating,
If it isn’t gun violence it’s about race baiting.
Give us Hollywood opinions from superior minds,
And every thirty minutes the tape rewinds.

Losing My Way

Aged sixteen when it all begins
a downward spiral I fell in
steady consumption on the fringe
to being consumed on the binge

overindulgent to a lost mind
need the endorphin buzz to unwind
my image morphing but I was blind
as the drink the drugs an I were bind

my memory now a hazy fuzz
years go by I still need the buzz
no reason I do it just because
I've killed the person I once was

a false scene shielded my demise
continued buying more supplies
without money on tick full of lies
unaware I'm under cloudy skies

ignorant to the way I've altered
fallen down completely thwarted
when sober feel aches and awkward
a chemical romance I've resorted

buy street drugs get repeat prescriptions
five hour high five day restriction
losing sight of my own depiction
tied in tight to these addictions

this is a man losing his way
on a trail from back in the day
when he didn't want to work just play
now he's an outcast set to stray.
