“Why is it called a toothbrush?”
(he asked rhetorically)
as I use it to brush more than one
it makes no sense to me
surely 'teethbrush' would be correct
for dental care and gums
so from now on that's what I'll use
to remove food residue between my teeth
while I still have some

Been incarcerated in a house;
Displeased in surrounding clout;
Walls sadden painted windows covered in 50's paint;
Ridiculed and stagnated
Accustomed to be alienated
I walk outside still alive vertical choice
I received my voice
Contemplating
Residue survival

A little taste of my darkest fear,
it could happen now or tomorrow;
Beware of what speculations come;
You trusted this day would never come;
Believing it to be a fictitious fear,
just think about all of this tomorrow;
So much easier to handle tomorrow,
without a worry of what will come;
Nothing remains but the residue of fear;
I fear tomorrow, for I know what’s to come.

They're leftovers -
laughter from the good times,
tears from the heartbreaks,
warm cuddlings to soothe the soul,
tight clingy embraces from the many goodbyes,
the soft gentle gurglings of newborn life,
uncontainable joy of two bonding into one,
the pleasures, treasures, measured
in a lifetime of memories,
life's unforgettable, impregnated, residue.

The moment we realise
Divine aligned we are wise
It is the play in illusion
That binds us in delusion
What then the purpose
Of this circus
If consequences known
Of seeds sown
We would never err
No ego cravings would stir
With heaven on earth
Ever bubbling in mirth
We would be ever free
In our moment to moment entrée
Apparently method in this madness
Is to become one with oneness
Not by reason but by instinct
That love be the only precinct
Which we roam awake or asleep
For which realisation must sink in deep
By direct experience & assimilation
The throb of love our reflex orientation
Thus ingraining the truth by feeling all our doing
We become love enabled to the core of our being

Residue of tears..
Tear stained cheeks..
Moistened by its residue
Swollen eyes with irritation..
Saddened by circumstances ..
The daggers that have been thrust upon one's life..
Painfully stricken like a plague ..
Residue of tears..
Tears flowing and cascading like a roaring waterfall..
Roaring waterfalls of sorrow..
A deepened sorrow empty and hollow..
Solidarity non existent..
Had dug a deep, dark, hole in a lonely cave..
A empty cave of which is hollow..
Sorrowful and isolated
Pointed daggers in the direction of isolation..
Darkness had erupted..
Desperately seeking the polar opposite..
Had taken a glimpse of light..
There was a beacon of light..
A brightness of hope..
Then there was a light at the end of the deep, dark and lonely cave..
A bright and beautiful beacon of light..

All humans made of bones and flesh it's true
Whether you do or don't have your whole life ahead of you
There's always going to be a test or two
During any treks we do
The sky ocasionally red and blue
At certain dates bills and rent is due
Objects straighter than an arrow or bent and skewed
Daily some using pharmaceutical meds and booze
And others that never do
Might've been at one point a friend to you
And now may be as good as dead to you
Better watch out before I pull off some tekken moves
With these lethal weapons you lose
By yourself or with a retinue
Focus on your own revenue
Work hard and eliminate any ineptitude
Among particles, debris and any residue

stains of emotional residue
stains of emotional residue....
remains hidden in the aftermath of the emotionaly laden war
buried within the emotional graveyard
stains of emotional residue....
negatively charged explosions
go off within the battlefield of the mind
stains of emotional residue....
never able to cleanse the soul
of the residual feelings that linger
after all these years
stains of emotional residue....
no amount of closure obtained
could ever wash away the pain of
losing your love
the pain will always remain
within my heart as
stains of emotional residue....

"Whip 'em into line!",
an old phrase but still
sometimes heard.
In my lifetime,
usually applied to
recalcitrant children,
but in these politically correct times,
used less and less.
But, I think often times
still thought.
I remember how easily
it was once said
and wonder at the brutality
it implies and still does,
this residue of slavery.
How long it takes,
for history,
to relieve ourselves
of our burdens,
yet wonder at our violence.
It is always there lurking in our
rhetoric

Swamped up to my throat,
retching on passion’s residue-
Every last drop spent.

The innocuous white powder;
those dusty crumbs,
sniffed off distorted, glass mirrors
reflect images not his own.
Straight up or cut down,
it shames the weak
and weakens the poor.
Cracked up or cranked out,
oozing from a crusty nose,
dripping from his blank stare,
in eyes too blind to see that this
is the residue of his LIFE;
leftovers from the best parts of him;
refuse, ruins, pieces and particles that
can't
be blown away!

56 years.
Now he lives on the 8th floor,
she lives on the sixth.
2 floors,
two buttons,
and 20 feet away.
He travels
by cane.
Relieved
they don't make those things
out of saw-dust,
she lives
2 buttons,
two floors,
and 20 feet away.
Too much momentum
to spin her attempts,
he waits for her guide downstairs.
Paces in front of the window each day,
and when she makes her move,
he hurries down
-well, he tries-
so she won’t assemble outside,
unaccompanied.
Always wondered what they talked about,
perhaps the loss of their only daughter
thirty years ago.
perhaps not.
That other day
she sat alone,
and I thought
... he may have just had taken a nap...
and as she rested there waiting,
she joined him,
in the only way she could.

Ignorance
Is all that's left, all that's left
Resilience
Should be what is left, what is left
A break through
These decisions can't be made without you
And these still framed minds
Only see in one direction
Tear down the walls
Leave nothing behind
Just tear it all down
These pictures and paintings have already faded
And you want to start it all over
Reluctance
Is all that's left, all that's left
Readiness
Should be what is left, what is left
A sentence
Is carried out only if you're guilty
And these still framed minds
Only see in one direction
Residue on the walls
Leave nothing behind
Just tear it all down

Lost in the stuff that dreams are made of
Floating on tails of whales
Tasting the sunrise without approbation
Sleeping in crumpled up sails
Losing my voice in the heat of a song
Lighting the stars with my candle
Piercing the poppy's delicate paper
Earrings too dainty to handle
Diving to depths with the cavern's unrest
Breathing in water for air
Shards of the sunlight pin prick my feet
like padded fins pruny and bare
Tumbled and tossing in moments engrossing
Lost in a brief afterthought
in the sweet lucid seconds between night and day
when my dream residues are still caught...
