Premium MemberOn the Hamster Wheel

Always chasing the money,
Seldom tasting the honey.
Worshipping the drone of work,
Makes me feel like a jerk.
Having no time to think.
How low can I sink?
Everyone else on the same wheel,
No longer know what I feel.
Is my life mostly undone?
Will I ever have any fun?
Cards stacked against me for real,
Let's reshuffle, start a new deal.

Mind Trap

Mind Trap

Thoughts racing in and out
of my mind
Like a movie that sometimes
needs to rewind
Bits and pieces like a gigsaw
Puzzle
That will sooner or later
fit together and never
reshuffle
Sometimes it’s really scary
to think ahead
But the mind starts going
more when you are in
bed
Take a deep breath and slowly
let it out
You will feel much better
without a doubt
Try to settle down and begin
to doze off to sleep
Then from your mind you
will hear not a peep

If I Find a Queen

IF I FIND A QUEEN

If I but find a queen,
to mother my unborn,
The earths will gossip
My love to the heavens.

Birds shall fly in troops,
Leaving no foe behind.
And the wind will dance,
To the lovely tunes
Compose by the birds.

If I but find a shoulder to lean,
My heart she shall dwell,
I condemn reshuffle
For i fear being in the
 arms of a fruitless joker.
Or a player on the field of love.

If I but find a queen,
I won't fall in love with her,
But walk in love with her
For everything that falls get broken.

If I but find this rare gem,
I shall dish my heart with loyalty,
Salt it with hundreds of truth,
Spice it with thousands of faithfulness
And dine with her in millions affection.

If I but find a resurrecting hope,
I shall walk in nakedness out of hatred
And get locked in the cupboard of love
With Romeo,Paris and Samson.

Nothing In Life Is Permanent

Why is life so complex?
Why am I feeling vexed?
Pulling one way,
Not feeling one has any say,
Too much involved
For the problem to be solved,
Not wanting to disrupt,
Feeling all is corrupt,
Fire stations closing across the land,
Waving goodbye with a heavy hand,
Hospital consultants contending to be at the top,
All feeling scared they’ll be given the chop,
Large organisations forced to accept a ‘reshuffle’
Making history in one big kerfuffle,
Nostalgia plays heavy in many hearts,
Watching their lives torn into ‘parts’
Thinking of others afar,
With dilemmas of this kind not on a par,
Absent family over the deck,
Drowned children in a shipwreck,
And in war-torn lands, pulled apart
citizens with broken hearts,
Earthquake destroying land in one tear,
People losing hope in prayer,
Solace is not easy to find,
Throughout humankind,
Just a quiet acknowledgment,
That nothing in life is permanent.

The Clock Struck Mercy

Hollow place, crawlspace, where no emotion returns alive,

Broken or calloused, which shall it be, if I had the choice to make

And what is darkness to me or to them, as I attempt to find the solace and sun

The cold has taken it's inevitable toll on the heart and spirit, and where will one turn

when the cards are laid, will we reshuffle the deck?

No, the deck is laid, but maybe a reshuffle is in the future ahead,

And maybe a life depends on reshuffle; no rebuttle, all mistakes and lies one side,

Names in a book, burned page by page, waiting for the bottom to drop,

Pray to see light, or must I crawl to it? My Lord has not forsaken me,

But it is me who made the run towards false ecstacy, trampled goodness and mercy

by the wayside.

There must be reason...

There must be change...

There must be repentance.

Bow my head to the winds, and make amends to the one who reigns on high,

Trust in You, I seek and find; the failure is mine, but I yean for the tunnel's ending

light,

I race unto careless sorrow and hopeful redemption...

Find the hope and strength to rise again....

Praise God.

Nature of History

In time, days, months to years

Is the failure of relationships
In January to July to December

And the shallow of rivers
In July, August to September

The destruction by earthquakes
In January, February to December

The reshuffle of accidents
In lakes, roads and in air

The manufacture of acids, guns, and robots
In laboratories, industries and employment areas

The color of rainbows
Blue, green, grey

The personality of people
Conceited, gloomy, temperamental

The training of soldiers, students, and also religions
In academy, schools and institutes

The birth of children
Over years and years all over the world

The truth of lies
In homes, schools up to work places

A Full Deck of Black Aces

Horn of Africa. Famine, drought and conflict have left millions of people needing food, water and healthcare. The UN says that in the last few months, tens of thousands of Somalis have died of causes related to malnutrition. Most of them were children.
I appreciate the picture is deeply up setting but represents the reality of those children who are starving/dying in Africa, even as you read this.
Playing cards: the black ace, for some, represents death.

Unlearning

Everybody was in hurry to unpack
the sins and reshuffle the names
of burns, by taking a holy dip
in mauve lake. I wanted to defang them.
Acid attack had the inversion effect
on the expressions.

It was an obscene vision
unrolling the infant
for bleeding an opponent. The procession
moved on. Details never came out.
Only the flaming bodies, loud thuds
and the screaming virgins.

This was unlucky for the hutments,
fragile poles crumbled down, unspeakable
emptiness on the faces. Something has
to be unlearnt. Too much pain of
the knowledge. Ectopic pregnancy?
