We met up again,
the same magnet brought us together,
for a repeat episode, or
perhaps ‘session’ would be a better choice of word.
Her place;
there is a red candle, she lights it,
the moon appears outside her top floor window,
tonight it seems an ancient virgin, naked
and shorn of any virginal grace.
How long is it now, two maybe three years?
I know I have changed,
maybe she can sense that
maybe that new strangeness intrigues us.
The glow of a shared cigarette;
her confession of another hidden relationship,
I’m not surprised,
I have my secrets also.
She ached to reveal her new lover,
not to hurt
but to absolve all unspoken lies;
pillow talk really,
a recognition that I was never going to be
any more significant to her
then a pair of matching shoes for her dress. -
understandable.
I watch her dressing.
Apart from the obvious
what did she want from me?
We both knew the future held no script for us,
we just had to do this one more time.
Sometimes what we want
is a better image of ourselves,
a more meaningful world
we wished we both belonged to.
A man from Nebraska, called Wayne,
Found speaking in public a strain.
He stammered and stuttered,
The audience muttered;

The above is a perfect example of a poet reaching out desperatly.

Check it out. I just made two separate web addresses rhyme perfectly.
The above is a perfect example of a poet reaching out desperately.
If you go to one web address, it will always bring you back here.
If you go to the other web address it will take you elsewhere.
If you're not sure which web address is the correct one to choose,
here's a hint;
The web address in your browser right now is the web address not to go to.
