Echo Enduring Empty Voice

Is Echo anything beyond a voice?
Narcissus is a very handsome man.
Is love an obligation, or a choice?
It hasn’t varied since the world began.

Narcissus is a very handsome man.
He sees his own reflexion, and he knows:
it hasn’t varied since the world began.
To love an egotist engenders woes.

He sees his own reflexion, and he knows
he is his own enduring fantasy.
To love an egotist engenders woes –
one thing will always block you: that thing’s “he”.

He is his own enduring fantasy:
he seeks no other: he’s both hook and bait.
One thing will always block you: that thing’s “he”.
Thus gorgeousness becomes an ugly trait!

He seeks no other. He’s both hook and bait.
He’s empty. As we say, he’s lost the plot:
thus gorgeousness becomes an ugly trait.
But sound, like memory, can mark the spot.

We think love lasts for ever. Clearly not.
Abandoning a partner now seems rife.
The axioms we’ve lived by are forgot.
What are the privileges of a wife?

Abandoning a partner now seems rife.
Is love an obligation, or a choice?
What are the privileges of a wife?
Is Echo anything beyond a voice?

National Poetry Month

Heart, river, shiver, cold, masticate, wicked.

Laying by the river
Staring at my reflexion so I don’t cry
My heart is shivering mid July
Why would I wait for an apology
Maybe I should move on shouldn’t I
I still wear your jacket that you gave me
In the cold weather, I didn’t get to say goodbye.
But I forgive you, at least now you are happy.
Oh boy fly high
When I look at the sky I see you in the clouds
Rest in peace, I might join you soon. I can’t lie.
Those wicked acts won over you.
“Only if things would of been different” as I sigh
I will try to masticate all of this
It's getting dark, so I pull up a cigarette.
I walk away as I try to fry.

Premium MemberChange

Life keeps on shifting, never the same,
Like a beautiful melody, a vibrant flame.
In constant change, we all take part,
A masterpiece of art, a work of heart.

Each day's a brushstroke on the canvas of time,
A mountain to climb, a bell's sweet chime.
Embrace the change, don't hide or fear,
For in every moment, something dear.

Sober Reflexion

When this temple shall lay to rest
That the temple bird returns
To dreamland beyond the seas
The earthen vessel shall be desolate
Then shall dust, dust returns
And reality long created comes true
The dead weep over the dead, consciously
Numbering their days
The dead weep over the dead
On grounds well-known to them

Awake oh the Dead!
Weep no weep for anyone
Except for yourself
Except for your perilous past
And your waiting morrow
For love or pleasure you give in tears
Does him no right or wrong

This temple shall lay to rest
And temple bird shall flew away
To dreamland beyond the seas
And temple walls shall become desolate
Then cry no cry and shed no tears
Death makes me triumph over death.

A Mug of a Smug

If I can’t me hug,
Nor can on my shoulder cry,
Fine, I’m such a mug,
But did I gripe why?
So what if I’m such a smug.

Poet’s Note: We often read a Haiku or a Senryu and go deep in self-reflexion. But some small ditties can also be a lot of fun.

As We Aligned

God helped remind
Crowned our chest with knowledge
Love was acknowledged
Hurried still while thoughts remained
Life was forever changed
Tranquility of rivene
As we entered the stream
Sense of pure enjoyment
Smiling through every moment
The dream still vivid
With nothing omitted
People who surround
All truth was found
Our hearts of revelation
The souls filtration
Powered back
To see what lacked
All it took
Was one single look
Saw change in me
Through the reflexion that I seen
Hope now felt
Within myself
Our sand shall last
We may sustain the mass

Swapping

If we put the wisdom of providence on one plate of the cosmic scales, and the mysteries of luck on the other one;
the bottom line will turn out a third mystery. Let's say, our individual value in the universe.
Would not the deficiencies of one plate be made up for by the surplus of the other?

Premium MemberSeeking Intimacy

Rooted but branches
Swaying in the wind
Reaching Extending
Touching nothingness
Lost in a vast expanse
Yet waiting in a vacuum
Alone Aloof Reflexion
I thought I would never find the time
For someone to share my life
Time now has a different feel to it
Suddenly I yearn for distraction
For sharing For caring
Suddenly I feel bitterly alone
Conscious of my lack of intimacy
That closeness
That port to call home

My Failing Life

My Failing Life
My bones are chilled; winter like death.
Cold lay bare - rain like tears.
Wildflower that opens in the morning and
by the evening cut down - only to wither.
Innocence answers to fear - every heart broken
with breasts torn asunder.
Distant ghostly promises!!
Now is the time, if there were remedies or regrets;
 innumerable stills in my mind.
A reflexion of possibilities that might have been.
Disappointed in what has yielded in love –
disaffected of life.
Sands of my life sinking in a time glass,
awaiting to pay my debt to nature.
Death worms drags a man almost unbeknown to himself,
down to the prison of “His Grave”.
Into the cold quiet soil, of the once most cherished Valley.
Death worms - move through the soil and clamber over
“flesh and soul”.
Death will have no power over me.

Crystal Ball

I chip fiercely
through the layers
in search of my future
but nothing,
nothing at all,
just the reflexion
of my curiosity
and the certainty
to focus
on the present
or my future
will be nothing,
nothing at all
if I chip my time away.

Tied Up

Fresh...novel - ingenuous in this nifty world of poetry
The congregation of well-versed and eloquent poets
Reflexion occupied and inhabited within your bosom
Comments - indited and penned by your hand,
Enunciated and explicated by your psyche
Behind of what is envisioned and construed
Philia augmented and fruited
Yielding the sweets in acquaintanceship
Not just co-writers
Not just gurus and advisers who meliorates and nurtures me
Competent as it can be
But buddies and intimates who're TIED UP
Great sophisticated poet - Nette
Words of heart so new -Nikko
Unbars the door of wisdom - Dr. Ram
Now,we've educed this bind - never loose...

Knowledge

You told me to tell you something
You didn’t already know.
But I told you I’d told you everything.

You called me on that lie.

Opening yourself is to lose part of yourself
And I couldn’t understand how you expected it of me
When you’d build up your own defense
To shut me away.

We sat on the phone in silence
Static
9:10...9:20...
The rain just kept falling
My reflexion on the window downsed by the droplets
As we listened and waited
For the other to
Cave.
Drawing upon each others’ ragged breath.

Finally, I gave.

“I love you” I said, only to be plagued by silence
What a torturous rebuttal to offer
I thought I might cry
I thought I might die.
Then the silence was shattered.

“I said to tell me something I didn’t already know.”
You finally spoke.

I
shuddered.

I Have

ALWAYS
I AM.
ALL; GOOD AND BAD
IT DOESN’T CHANGE WHO I AM
INSTEAD OF LETTINT HE PAIN WIN
I CHOOSE TO BE ME…
AND GRIN.
EVERY STEP, WORK ACTION; DONE!
IS APART OF MY REFLEXION
I HAVE TO CREATE POSITIVE
FROM THE PLACE
I AM IN.
CANNOT DO ANYTHING WITH THE PAST
BUT PLAY WHAT IF?
THAT DOESN’T DISSECT ENOUGH
WORKING THROUGH MY COCOON MAY HAVE BEEN ROUGH
IT ONLY COLORS MY WINGS
I NOW AND YOU SEE
BECAUSE TO BE ME
IS TO BE HAPPY.
AND THROUGH MY NEXT STRIDE
I BEGIN TO CRITIZE
WITH EXPERIENCE ONLY
AS TRUTH’S GIFT.
YET HERE I WAKEN BY THE FORK IN THE ROAD
THERE IS NOT REASON TO LOOK BOTH WAYS
I HAVE TODAY WITH KNOWLEDGE
OF YESTERDAY.
I GREET WITH A SMILE
THIS TIME YOUR MOVE
CHECK MATE.
EITHER SIDE THERE IS A LESSON
FOR OUR NEXT ENCOUNTER
SUNRISE OR OPEN EYES
TODAY I AM ALIVE!
BORN, HERE, THNKING
LOVING HOPEFULLY
THIS IS IT!

Virtuous Woman

Your presence alone...undoubtedly magnifies this room.
An it's such a great honor to know you, & even more
be your son & friend.
You have complimented my life so much to were it's
unbelieveable, & to say at the least you inspire me
is a understatement.
Soft spoken, but with a heart of gold that illuminates
everything that you do.
You have influence so many lives to were it's a given
I want my daughters to be a perfect reflexion of you
& all that you stand for.
A ideal role model & yes you are my hero.
A kind hearted woman who would give her last.
The perfect wife, mother, & grandmother.
You have been a tremendous blessing, an therefore
you are truely blessed.
But, with no words known to the human race that
can truely describe you or your character, I pray that
my attempt will not be in vain, as I state with sincerity
& from my heart: You are a beautiful soul & a Virtuous Woman.
I love you mom.

I Choose You!

You're a diva,
a fine sister with a peanut butter complexion.
Highly intelligent with ambitions,
your presence gave the sun a reflexion!
Semi sassy, with a mind of your own.
A creation of art, a Black Queen magnifying her zone.
Radiating from your throne,
I desired you like a criminal yearns for his freedom!
Visions of bliss within mind, you & I, wish you could've seen'em.
Wanted a future with you, not just a one night stand.
So, I conceived a plan that would place me as your second man.
Cuz with you, I knew God & your dreams was first,
& who was I to intervene?
& plus, compared to God second is not a bad thing!
Assuming I was infactuated is a understatement,
& mere words just want do.
Cuz, when it's all said & done, Goddess of my soul,
I Choose You!
