Premium MemberEncountering Paradox Upon the Eve of My Retirement

God of changing changelessness.
God of endless surprises,
confounding the confoundless.
You are the God of Paradox,
revealing to children, that,
which you hide from the learned.
Those mortals you touch,
utterly transformed, Divinely
refereeing matches between
angelic wrestlers and mere mortals,
Jacob becoming the limping Israel,
Moses’ staff raining down plague,
terrorizing those who terrorized,
the vanquished becoming vanquishers.
The angel adorned ark, the
secret weapon of your Covenant,
the enslaved now the rulers.
Shepherd royalty, blossoming deserts,
lions at peace with the lambs,
children playing with cobras,
Angelic announcements
a Virgin conception of the
God/Human who serves
but refuses to be served,
creation murdering the Creator,
the Dead not remaining dead.
Divinely bestowed paradox,
abundantly planted in history,
who am I to question You
about a broken left ankle
on the Eve of my retirement?

Premium MemberYou Are My Love

You're my love boat, and I am yours:
you're the rudder, and I'm the oars.
I am your challenge, you're my dare,
and God's answer to my prayer:
when I take a breath, you're the air.

You found me scared behind locked doors
and took me to see foreign shores,
revealing a world waiting there.
For we're soulmates.

We've fought battles, but never wars,
refereeing games without scores.
Feeling the flames of passion flare,
our love forged one heart, that we share;
melded together at our cores.
For we're soulmates.

Ode To the World Cup

The world has discovered it's coveted holy grail
To Jules Rimet we honour let the football feast set sail.
Countries unite and teams take flight to a designated host nation
Little kids feed off this passion they tune-in with eager motivation.

Anticipation even before any ball is kicked or flicked
Back pages with fake news has our minds playing tricks.
Will he start will he not toys yanked from the cot
What's more at least we are entertained somewhat.

It takes us away from the 9-5 the same old mundane
Propels us into a four year galaxy the game beautifully insane.
From the old to the young the whole world will celebrate
Sole-stomping satisfaction our diverse planet will vibrate.

There will be scandals, errors, misdemeanours all documented
There will amazing goals, tricks, bad refereeing decisions all commentated.
What a beautiful notion thought of by that man Mr. Rimet
Implanting the WC in our lives from 1930 to present day.

The VP Debate
By Franklin Price
10/5/2016

The VP elects were on TV
As a debate it wasn't right
Was a farcical imitation
Might as well have been a fight

Could have been a boxing match
With refereeing quite a botch
Many low blows being thrown
Not to the head but to the crotch

So busy with the slandering
Never heard just where they stood
The only thing I say of note
“ did neither party any good”

Must admit we channel changed
And did not watch it all
We only watched a round or two
Then we made the only call

The worst of all the bad debates
Wasn't hard to say a draw
This entire race for president
Is the worst I ever saw

My English use is questionable
Might say it's even bad
But not as bad as this debate
Now that's off my chest; I'm glad

The Night Before Christmas Eve

Twas the night before the night before Christmas
And Santa was in quite a rush
Examining his naughty and nice lists
exchanging some names was a must

The elves were all making merry
at the North Pole’s toy making party
Gorging themselves on sweet treats
and spiced cocoa made for the hardy

Mrs. Clause was refereeing the finals
of the reindeer games of the year
The Donner’s were playing the Vixen’s
Rudolph leading the jeering cheers

The lights were set on the flight ramp
Santa’s sleigh was already packed
A chore usually left for Christmas Eve
the snowmen helped take up the lack

Everything was set for Christmas Eve
a day ahead of the final year flight
The gang all sends their best regards
Merry Christmas to all and good-night!!

Born From Adam and Eve

To Journey throughout the Seven Seas

Refereeing all their mysteries

Once one has captained his own ship

And avoided all manners indelicate dealing with the drip

God's Nature shall set you free

With abundant sustenance for all to see

Challenges met thru the toughest of degrees

Makes you a Man/Woman

Born from Adam and Eve
