The Day I Died
I spent too long lost in hell
And there were so many dark stories
I'm So. Frightened to tell
No open window no open door
Just as I thought I was winning
The battle raging in my head
Suddenly and without warning
I fell through a trap door
And hit the ground so hard
It broke my bones
Void of sunlight
Void of love
Crimson shards of a broken heart
My hopes and dreams
Torn apart
I cling on by my finger nails
But my grip is about
To slip
And the all-consuming shroud of darkness
That devours and consumes me
While strapped to a bed of nails
Never to be free
On the day I died so long ago.
