Baby shower Nightmare

My little face says it all
Adults think they know it all
When they don't know a thing
It can be hard sometimes to be a baby
One moment you're the best thing in the world
Everyone loves a baby
But when we. get a little older
We are ignored and end up in the gravy

I tried to rebel
But it didn't
Turn out too well
I should be in the bursary
And our Moms
In the penetrnsuary

Whats a kid like me
Doing in a joint like this?
I suppose it was born at the wrong time
Wrong place
I tried the old trick
When there's when there's nothing left
So plan A cry to draw attention
Only problem was
Both my parents were deaf

I have my own tantrums

People said '' it's just teething problems
But I don't have any teeth"
That's the problem

So I'm here
And must confess
I'm depressed
So embarrassed
And Harrised

Just think
When I get back to nursery?
I walk in looking like a lampshade
The other babies will think I've gone daft
I've lost my marbles!
And laugh!

When I get a bit older
And have my teeth
I can speak
After intense pychothrapy
For Trauma
I warn ye
I may get bigger than those who scared me
Just wait and see.

Very real poetry, Peter. Sad so many babies probably feel just like this one. Well written and engaging poetry, my friend. Thanks for sharing it with us. Miss your poems, see you soon! Bill

- Yes, you can be traumatized ... both with and without teeth ... at least if you look like a lampshade :) - A fun poem, Peter :) - hugs

Such an adorable picture and a delightful read...I suppose it is hard to be a baby...life can be sooo confusing even at that age :-) This verse was humorous and priceless: People said ''it's just teething problems But I don't have any teeth" That's the problem" Hadn't thought about that before. Love your imaginative spirit which is so evident in this poem. Hope you're having a great weekend, Sara

This is so cute and truly enjoyable, Peter. It's true that sometimes it's hard to be a baby, but, between us, it can also be great fun lol :) ~ Regards // paul
