FAITH IN GOD WHO IS OUR HELP AND SHIELD
God is our help and shield against sin-oppression
By His forgiveness of loving compassion
To sanctify us by His holy persuasion
As our faith sees His heavenly vision.
God is our help and shield against grievous pain
By His healing for our disease-caused strain
To relieve us by His cure along well-being’s gain
As our faith seeks His comfort when we experience physical-drain.
God is our help and shield against fear
By His presence of gentleness since He is near
To cheer us by His Word so dear
As our faith prays to Him to dry our tear.
God is our help and shield against worry
By His assurance of ready victory
To strengthen us by His power from hopeless misery
As our faith depends on Him to share His Gospel story.
God is our help and shield against anxiousness
By His provisions of abounding graciousness
To supply us by His goodness
As our faith trust His promised answer to our neediness.
God is our help and shield against attacking foe
By His protection of guardianship today and tomorrow
To fight for us from wickedness blow
As our faith increases to serve Him midst His blessings’ flow.
God is our help and shield against dreadful insecurity
By His mercy of fatherly authority
To enclose us around His fortress with His safety
As our faith continues in His truth with our obedient sincerity.
