Resurfacing From Depression
I have drowned in this dark lonely sea for so long
I have forgotten what it was like before to be strong
No chains needed, just the water pressure kept me down here
No light within sight, I have given up all dreams already
The drift upwards starts on its own in its own time
The healing never feels like it is actually there at all
I can’t find even a sound of hope from a chime
Up and up I ascend, slowly but surely, I will rise
A faint light after centuries of darkness finally emerges at last
I now resurface with my life, light, liberty, and soul restored
