Dear Brother
Growing up in the country
I couldn’t help but notice
Boys had more fun and you seemed to thrive
In the multitude of outdoor adventures
One season after the other whipped on by
Fun and adventures were still calling
While years of struggling took their toll
Many have taken advantage of your good nature
You seem beaten down and maybe unhappy
I wonder if you ever felt rage
You appear so mellow and forgiving
There are so many questions I’d want to ask you
But we don’t seem to speak the same language or
Maybe you just don’t want to open that can of worms
We are the yin yang, you and I
You’re my other half, my opposite
That mysterious side I can’t understand
