Lora Turnham
Lora’s tandem pilot is Corrine Hall,
But she originally knew Fiona Duncan,
In the speedy sport of para-cycling,
And was born on 4th September 1998.
She picked up this discipline by team,
In 2009, when she joined TeamGB, real,
And won a silver at the 2011 UCI Worlds,
And so was selected for the 2012 Paras.
There she came in fourth for the B kilo,
And also for the tandem B pursuit track,
And then seventh place in the road race,
And eighth in the time trial: she did well.
In 2013 at the UCI Worlds in Canada,
Lora and Corrine both won the silver,
But beat that win with a gold, time trial,
Which took her right to the USA Worlds.
In Greenville she had a bronze catch,
In the tandem B time trial round n’ round,
But topped that again with a gold medal,
In the tandem B road race, they grinned.
In 2016 at the UCI Worlds, Montichiari,
Lora won the bronze in the B pursuit.
In Rio she won gold for the individual:
“I can't thank [mum and dad] enough.”
Her two brothers as well as her mum,
Suffer from this hereditary sight loss,
But immediately after winning at Rio,
She was planning her wedding event.
