Oh mum do you recall my first pet?
Blackie the cat, she used to scratch my legs
Let’s look through this album for her photo
I try so hard to jog mum’s memory but
Violet eyes remain blank and lifeless
I hold back my tears, she has severe dementia
Oh how I wish I could turn back time
Nobody can help, she’s in a world of total forgetfulness
