FICTIONAL POEM FOR CONTEST

"We remember their love when they can no longer remember." Anonymous Oh mum do you recall my first pet? Blackie the cat, she used to scratch my legs Let’s look through this album for her photo I try so hard to jog mum’s memory but Violet eyes remain blank and lifeless I hold back my tears, she has severe dementia Oh how I wish I could turn back time Nobody can help, she’s in a world of total forgetfulness

So much goes on in age, dementia as one of. I lost my mother a month ago at 91, illnesses we didn’t know she had, and those illnesses caused dementia as well within a couple of months. Well done my friend.

A very beautiful and heartfelt acrostic poem my dear poet friend. Dementia is a ruthless disease and enemy of adulthood. I can imagine how difficult for you to be in the situation where your mom suffers a lot with it. But you're a very loving daughter. I'm sure, she can still feel it and kept those good mem'ries in her heart. I love your acrostic. Thanks for sharing. Best wishes in the contest my dear and all the Best for this New Year 2024 too. God bless you always and your family. Hugs

Dementia is a strange condition. The inability to communicate of both parties is frustrating. This poem is a look at a very sad situation.
