Love My Way

"Love My Way"

Ghosts read the walls like braille in this place
it’s a macabre dance with the past and the petulant future
it romances them away from the let-it-be moments
on repeat heavenly tortured in the evermore never-give-up

they lost all their teeth to childhood long ago
and the hearts in their broken DNA chains falling ashen
dust the full to the brim unread bookshelves searching for the lost
Lillith and Persephone, there, in that place, Demeter's fingerprints
leave their mark like a map

branding lightening messages kintsugi gold and orchid black cracked
in permanence, the light shuffling like embers torches the way
of spectral footprints far from saintly, they grace the way of reigning here
where the all hail is gathered from the burning inside

the whispering half light
ignites facetious flames
into well-lit incantations invoked
like serial killer confessions

revealing a hint of mortality like a kiss burning love into the absent dolls
of yesterday’s smiling immortality -
Zeus has no place here in these fields of Elysium’s fortune
and the unblessed Voodoo pins the ever watching mortal eyes,

turns them all over like invisible pages,
turns them all away, to be ignored,
swiftly out of this cloistered place,
to the far far away

opening to chapters of touched sunflowers
pressed between the good Book’s pages
the signature loops over and over again its refrain
in daisy chain stitches of Lillith measured by external others insane

sewn and frayed into the spine "L" like Love augurs the voice stolen
and locked forever, it would seem, locked tight away,
the letter for "G" signifies and confirms the "L" for Love misplaced
on a shelf somewhere, where there, the hexed mind of Miss Fortune's insanity hides always,

no matter where we are,
we are together finding each other
over and over again, here in this lonely safe place,
there is hidden love like a beautiful mystery singing you in

into the poetry of this overgrown stage,

the deepest fields of violets bloom here
where sunflowers are eternally burning golden
forever between the story’s hidden treasure pages
there survives an ocean rolling and tide turning

in this place,
there are no tears
there are tables for ghosts
making contact tipping fables

Candide Diderot. ‘24

“Zeus, ultimately realizing that the world will perish if Demeter doesn't get her daughter back, eventually returns Persephone to her mother. But because Persephone mistakenly ate four pomegranate seeds while she was in the underworld, she must return to Hades for a third of every year, forever.”

"They'd put us on a railroad
They'd dearly make us pay
For laughing in their faces
and making it our way
There's emptiness behind their eyes
There's dust in all their hearts
They just want to steal us all
and take us all apart, but no

Love my way, it's a new road
I follow where my mind goes

So swallow all your fears, my love
And put on your new face
You can never win or lose
If you don't run the race"
