By a Wall
By a Wall
She loved him,
yes loved the scrambled little guy
She was so careful
that’s no lie
She kept him cool
so he wouldn’t fry
But Humpty Dumpty
he had a thing for being high
Then that fateful day
he tried to fly
Oh me oh my
WHY? why? w h y?
The King he sent them.
Yes, all of his men…
I heard they couldn’t
put Humpty Dumpty together again.
So the Princesses held him,
her cracked mind in pain.
She’d never love
a good egg again.
Strands of her hair
wrapped around his shell.
She picked up every piece that fell.
This part is sad
yet still I must tell,
all loves that start
do not end well.
She became woefully lost
when Humpty fell.
Some say that egg-shelled dude,
enchanted her with a magic spell.
But now he’s gone
and her as well,
buried by a wall
near a lovely dell.
