Optimism

I would embrace life with optimism
rather than feel resigned to dark despair
I prefer to see the world through a prism
filled with colorful beauty everywhere
Optimistic people don't mope and brood
In negativity they don't wallow
"This too shall come to pass," their attitude
when worry is a hard pill to swallow
It's not rose colored glasses that they wear
They are not naive or ambivalent
And don't for a moment think they don't care
Optimism prevents cause to lament
Hope gives optimists reason to cheer
It's happiness and health we should revere
