To Which Image Should We Cling

“We have been here a thousand times before Memory erased, each time we begin anew Of hands held tenderly, we’ve lost the score Each embrace virgin like fresh morning dew To which image, oh dear soul, should we cling For each heart was at some point of time dear As we flow through life with zest, zeal and zing In all forms we see God’s presence appear” Contest Line of Inquiry
Often, I open my memory chest, and have wept and wept until I close it; I hold those sad, sad thoughts until they rest, keeping each face within me as I sit. I seek God's test and love him I admit I find that his image means everything; to his holy words I truly commit I ask, God, to which image should I cling ? I find my soul on a long nature quest, in a green forest that God has sunlit; my time is short as I am but a guest, oh, listen to the birds twitter and chit. God's love comes over me and I submit, and will flow through life with a song to sing; God is in the sky, wind, and stars gold lit, I ask, God, to which image should I cling ? Life is not easy and I become stressed, and I sink low into a deep, dark pit; but then, I hear God's voice and I am blessed, and my transformation to joy is quick. I crawl up into the sun bit by bit, and I am lifted by an angel wing; never alone with God in the cockpit I ask, God, to which image should I cling ?
