Looking forward all winter for my vacation
A three-day excursion put on by We Are One Nation
We parked our RV’S near the foothill,
then hiked and climbed top of the cliff and met Will
When the sign appeared Reggae Pon the Mountain,
we were quickly escorted to the water fountain
Come and jam to the tunes of the Marleys
Hanga-langa and check out the Harleys
The Jamaican food—colorful, soulful—sublime
One look and I knew right away I would need more time
to enjoy Reggae 'Pon The Mountain
We bought masks, jewelry and tasted the cookies
Ingredients pure, strong, overwhelmed—we felt like rookies
C’mon stay mon, enjoy the music all day, sangalanga on Topanga
You know the Canyon known for the rock-stars?
Three days of festive delight, tonight be romantic, sleep in your cars!
Our host thanked us and said Jah be with you, Rastafari
We waved as he drove off in his Ferrari
We’ll be back tomorrow for the Caribbean callaloo
where we’ll stay all day and enjoy the hullaballoo
A music festival up on the mountain

The purpose there
Now I know
My time there was meant for me to grow
To trust
To love
To forgive
To trust HIM
And to truly live
The devil was attacking me through others
Using our weakness against each other
When God want us to Love and respect one another
Pride stands in the way of our lesson
And we fall hard
Not in love but in hate
Carrying that negative energy with us every day
Now I see what was happening to me
Wanting the things so badly
Things I didn’t need
Now I am to release
I’m blessed
I forgive
I am at peace
And The father is with me.
I am light
Against the darkness
Love peace and unity

Rooted in Jamaica
Rhythmic off-beat playing
Rastafari message
Rope-like ringlets swaying
Rivers of the exile
Reminiscing sadness
Rock along to Marley's
Reggae rousing gladness

Little Island of Jamaica, birth place of Reggae
Always jolly, on a sunny day
Rastafari is the place where it all started
1948 on the Empire Wind rush most departed
Ackee & salt fish is the national dish
I love walking on the beach eating bread and fish
We’ve shown the world about the rough treatments we’ve been through
Half of the people have no idea or a clue
We’ve praised to everyone on Africa
Give thanks for the great land of Ethiopia
Music legacy from Bob Marley and peter tosh
Babylon way’s try to make us brainwash
Peace & Love to the wonderful place of Jamaica
Live humble and don’t be a troublemaker
Jamaica land we love!

I bet you remember
The birth and death
Of Jesus Christ
But tell me
Do you remember how
They crucified Rastafari
I bet you remember
The holidays and holy days
Of the pagan fiesta
But tell me
Do you remember how they
Tried to eradicate Rasta
I bet you remember
The months and days of the
Roman calendar
But tell me, do you remember
The year in which they
Were slaughtering Rasta
We’ve had many rulers:
governments and prime ministers
But do you know who
Was fighting against the existence
Of the Rastafarian followers
Your past is your history
What you don`t know is mystery
But whether baldhead or Rasta
We are all part of a larger family
The love of Jah has no division
He offers salvation to each
And everyone
But why is it that we fail
To accept each other
Tell me, what do you remember?
Do not let ignorance and shame
Hang over your shoulders
It is time to learn about the life
Of our elders
Walk with us through
The traditions
Of our forefathers
And teach us the truth about
Our culture
So that we may be able
To tell others
What we remember

Rastafari certainly was a young man of magnificent talent indeed...
He praised God, as Abraham did, in his chant and dance with true glee,
Bob Marlyn and Peter Posh helped him become a raggae star;
some folks thought he was crazy with those long, braided hair.
Since ninenteen-seventy when hippies abounded,
and revolted against the American Government with protest...
Rastafari wrote great songs of many themes for the oppressed
and poor who were denied civil liberties in their own land.
Listen to those songs, feel the vibrant beat in the his unique music
and walking in his shoes you can sing with him and become his friend,
because Rasatfari dreamed of seeing all peoples embrace around the troubled world...
has he died in vain or left an indelible legacy for those adoring his everlasting beat?

i look through the wings of the Dragonfly
clear through to the other side but i can't hide
from the third eye chakra
the agility i possess
i must confess
will change your views form fatalism
to catholicism
from hinduism to mysticism then...
have your heart screaming out for more
Jah Rastafari
look up at the sky and watch the rain pour down
don't be sad cause the moon wears a frown
i too feel restrained living in this town
running around like a loose cannon
they're thinking about banning me...
but the chaos in my mind
would not be confined
now is the right time
eyes half open
sleep but awake
this crap i can't take anymore...
too late i closed the door
