November Rain

On those dreary days
when skies are grey
and all the clouds are black
hey that's me I'll be
running through the raindrops
in my torn and worn out mac
it may be gloomy yet
when the weather's wet
and the dismal day is dark
that's me you'll see
splashing through the puddles
out there in the nearest park
I love a rainy day a rainy day is fine
I gotta say altho' I love a rainy day
in November I prefer your sunshine

hello my little drop
come to paint my cheek damp -
to etch your dour rill there
and reflect her smile …
yet, you are only one
while the heavens weep wild …
let it rain … and be gone!

I stood unsure when vacillating there

I stood unsure when vacillating there,
My thoughts walked way ahead me waiting there.
I’ll reach you, love, ere my feet reaching there,
Wet you with love ere rain can, raining there.
Like some of my friends who come to meet me,
I’ll barge in before air entering there
And try to soothe the kind soul that dwells on:
How’ll the poor plucked flowers be feeling there.
To me alas, flowers die anyway,
O to die a slow death suffering there.

Monsoon passion when spells

Sky when with dense clouds abound,
Seeing which peacocks dance around
On tender-green-dress-bedecked a hill,
In such a stirring scene, love-bound,
Which wayfarer wistful would not feel?

Translation (Quintain) | 34.08.2025 | monsoon, Nature, passion, peacock, nostalgia

Note: Here is a verse (in Arya meter) from Bhartrihari’s Shringaara Shatakam (hundred verses on love and romance). Spring was dealt with in the preceding verse. The poet now paints a picture of monsoon: dark clouds surround; excited, peacocks dance; the earth is bedecked with a lush green dress; a traveller longing for conjugal bliss, feels homesick. Here is the transliteration of the verse in Sanskrit:

Upari ghanam ghana-patalam tiryak
girayo api nartita mayurah |
Kshitih api kandala dhavala
drashtim pathikah kva yapayatu || 47 ||

Between dream and memory, I dance on the rain that falls slowly,
I didn't run from the cold drops, but caught them on the tip of my tongue,
Laughter and chaos spun in wide circles of joy,
I stepped on water with bare soles, and the sky was close to us.
We whispered winter stories under the gray and blizzard-swept sky,
And we bathed in life's puddles, without fear of the cold to come,
We played childhood games, throwing rain toward the stars,
We knew that morning would find us with cold and wet chests.
But what did it matter? For in that rain we found our paradise,
We let fever and cough unite us closer under the blanket,
Sharing warm soups and dreams, embraced from morning until dusk,
In a time that seemed to be only ours, a winter heaven.
It's a dream I fear to lose, a magic that I keep,
A corner of the world where wildness meets love,
Like a story written with white ink on January's sky,
A dream winter, a paradise that seemed so unreal.

Wouldn't The Storm Wish To Be Spring?

They see the storm, the pouring rain,
And whisper low, "Destruction again."
Yet who has thought when thunder cries,
It's nature's voice that fills the skies?

A desperate scream, a broken plea,
Begging for help, for harmony.
It never chose this fate of fear,
It's path was carved, it's end made clear.

The storm was never born to scare,
It only carried what it must bear.
For wouldn't it wish, if it had the say,
To bloom like spring, to shine like day?

To dress the earth in glitter and gold,
Make roses blossom, skies unfold
Not tear the petals, not dim the light,
Not turn the heavens to endless night.

It can't choose the wars it fights,
Not what it shatters in sleepless nights.
And that is why I love the rain,
The thunder's song, the storm's refrain.

I'd stand for hours beneath it's tears,
And listen close it calms my fears.
For as the earth must weep to mend,
So too must humans... to let go, to transcend.

Let The Flowers Grow Again

Smiles of roses in our garden wither,
As the wings of our love mid-air dither,
Our songs are sung without their melody,
We live our lives in black and white,

Our love's colours stolen by the rainbow,
With our cloudy skies missing the stars' glow,
Rather our lean cheeks bear the pool of tears,
Enough to form two times the Pacific.

Though the petals of our roses are dry,
Our favours are like showers from the sky,
So our love can bloom like roses again,
Our hearts are the loam for love's tender roots.

Let's wait for the rain showers once again,
For bees to dance on roses in the rain,
And our hearts shall swim in love's flooding brook,
So as to bring back joy to our garden.

Premium MemberEmpty Lines

The clothes lines hang empty the grass has grown tall
The apples rot down on the ground
Too thick is the fence around this garden wall
From the house of yours there’s no sound
Unfortunately, this is not a bad dream
But a matter of fact that maintains
When changes come somewhere it seems a routine
But when they come close it looks strange
The slabs will crack more, and it’s only the rain
Looks after the flowers you loved
The generous watering comes down again
The autumnal sky hangs above.

Flowers Rain Shadows

                               flowers
                        choke up water,
                   the petals that drop flat
                rain quits my photosynthesis —
I believe only glasses with bouquets,
my tears camouflaged by right stems,
they run in my faucet —
                    ~ rain bolted, ~ leaves,
                               flowers

After Rain, I'm Left with an August Day

My ears ring as I sit in the loft
and the sun shines through haze.
It rained last night and I know
it will rain again. I’ve already
checked through my emails
embracing my ritual to start the day.
The house cat rubs against my leg
until I allow it onto my lap.
I visited a friend yesterday
and we sat outside
while he talked about his ailments.
I mentioned the one I lost
and the break-up that haunts me.
He asked if I’d love again.
Heck no, I said,
but then again, maybe.
We both agreed
that we bear our ages
and that’s better
than the other choice.
Today I go for a drive
taking in the scenes
I’ve grown to love.
As I hold the steering wheel
they whisper by the passenger window.
Just past a line of trees
The Mississippi stirs, an endless flow
as it streams through my life.

Squall's Godspeed

Clouds heartshaped breaking
The downpours between us separating

Wrong to say I am in love
Wrong to seep in with this water

that's kissing and falling.
God, you drip so much into me.

The petrichor ~ on me ~ you fear
The petrichor ~ on you ~ you fear

The sky's cracks will slowly heal to blue
I will remember tight each tear for you

Since the rain overflows
My darling, go

Dance In The Rain

She wants to dance in the rain
and walk across edges, of warmest sands
that shimmers, as if diamonds
like, speckled...freckles

and she wants to let her hair hang down, loose
as if to flow, like strands of silken whispers
and she will wear Batiste , translucent
with wonderous, glitter, luster

for as the day, slips away
from daylight, to the dusk
all she wants
is to dance in the rain
and say ' l love you'
' l love you'

Whilk & Misky- Rain Dance

Candle

There he was still as a windless night,
As if adorned in the drapes of the stormy sky,
His shield covering the faintest shimmer's plight.

The candle held on to its whispering glow,
On the shores of the unending sea,
It held on in the ruthless wind's blow.

Why the ritual of protecting a such memory,
In the great winds of every new spring,
Having slightest the light of the star's treasury?

"It must live on in the dark, in the light,
It must live on in the sun, in the rain,
For she still lives, still seeks this sight."

Petrichor

Something was changing one day—
I felt it when a cool breeze blew.
Restless branches danced and swayed
while the world around me grew silent.

With the first touches of rain
I smelled ozone in the air
and in a moment of glory raised my arms.
I embraced the moment as mine alone

but looked for the word to describe how I felt
like the electricity of new love when I was young.

Falling rain whispered through crowns of trees
and spelled a sweltering day
the weight of grief
with the touch of a storm.

O the years I’ve lost.

Lightning danced in dark skies-
I’ve witnesses this scene many times
at different stages in my life.

Thirsty ground took in
what the skies had to offer
so it could live again.

A couple laughed in the downpour
and ran hand-in-hand to their car
as if they were young.

RAIN

Let it rain
Let it pour
I am in love with you even more.
Let me shelter you from the rain
Take away all you pain.
Let me dry away your tears and fears
Let me wrap you in arms
Give you the warmth and love from my heart.
Let me anchor you from the storm
With my body and soul.
Let me be the beacon for your eyes
Let me be your guide
Let it rain
Let it pour
For
Let our heart beats score and beat as one
As we embrace
And kiss tenderly .
Let this moment last forever
For i am in heaven.
