If it were the sun, it could be bright, warm, or shiny.
If it were the moon, it could be chilled, peaceful,
and beautiful. If it could not be understood,
it could not be love. If it was not, then
it could be more than it.
Though it may mitigate the pain, it is love. What if?
The purplish brinjal shed its purpleness, just as the
love shed interest.
The road somehow changes its direction toward the destination. But what if destiny has changed?
Although destiny is the same, only the way is
changed. That is how it is working.
Like the love scars as the lovely scars.
The precocious but unconscious heart.

Poetry is a mystic, sensuous mathematics of fire
smokestacks, waffles, pansies, people,
and purple sunsets.
Carl Sandburg
PURPLE PANSIES
A pensive-pansy bouquet,
vibrant diffusion of lot,
Borscht belt, Catskill-sunshine core,
platonic petals of thought.
Purple pansies are childhood,
of God’s wide-eyed creation,
innocence in royal cloak,
a roused imagination.
Deft purpleness recollects,
not grandma’s frilly feast days -
a sixty’s mod Easter dress,
painted nails of royal praise.
Fresh fairyland apogee
o’er green-sea, circular bowl.
Petal’s shades of light and dark -
a poet’s purple, vibrant soul.

Long to touch the rows u p o n rows of coneflowers,
but the bees, they b u z z, and the butterflies own.
Favorite intrepid host, the red-winged blackbird, towers
over the purpleness of his downturned petal throne.
Eyes flit back and forth as g o l d e n splashes cool
the p i n e y pond of koi. Serenity of zephyr scent
sends introspective id swimming like this school —
no longer in this worrisome world, exhaustion spent.
Traverse the paths of no work, no play - merely a b a n d o n
to holly bushes, lady slippers, roses with whimsical names.
Snowball hydrangeas, blueberries like goose pimples - stand in
the nether of shadow and sun, the hometown of God’s acclaim.
Close my eyes - bluster of multicolored petals from the sky,
cover my i n v i s i b l e frame… uninvited flocks gather
in an undecided decade of “don’t know when or why.”
P o s t u r i n g — shan’t get myself in a botanical lather.
Have faith, the untouchables are thriving with grace,
waiting for the usual feet to pass time, adorn this place.

My mood is purple today.
A pinch of chilly, a slap of icy rain.
The kind of mood you silently curse.
When it knocks the sextant from self-worth.
My mood is purple today.
so, you'll say hello to me first.
or there'll be no plastic cordial at all.
This purpleness will soon pass...hopefully.
Like wind ripples in green whorls of grass.
but for now, give me a sliver of more space.
Stay clear of my vibrating horn.
The one with dried blood in its curl.
I'll stay chained to my pen for most of the day.
Writing a purplish poem...or three.
But when I breech keep it simple... keep it brief.
or better yet, just keep it to yourself.

This night I shall dream of your bedazzling Red hair and lion-eyes.
Wrapped in echoes of your mellifluous face-music,
I long to sip from your banana ful lips.
In my dreams, we fly on the exquisite winged cucumber of purpleness -- skimming vast
continents of left arm s and cheata s.
The depths of all the oceans of the universe shall never separate our mangos.
Brilliant as rhythm ing attractivenesss, the seas greet us from afar.
In the twilight we feast on chocolate-coated jaguar s and tender charm hearts of love
Adorned in white silk, we pluck our waves crashinging love chimes from our right arms.
I press the elegance that you wear around your neck against my left arm -muffin so that
our banana s melt into one.
You will always be my little Poets of Poetry soup-cakes face, the lion of my own rhythm ing eye of love.
