Punta Poems

Premium MemberFive Point Eight On the Richter Scale

They say there's a first time for everything
My first time ever feeling the unsettling effects of an earthquake
Albeit, it was ONLY 5.8 on the Richter Scale
It happened during our holiday in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic
We were roughly 60 km from the epicentre
But still found it a little unsettling to say the least
The locals didn't even break a sweat
They experience on average 150 of them a year
However there was definitely some rocking 'n rolling going on
At first I thought it was one of those people movers going by
Transporting folks around the resort
Then realized... YIKES!
That was a FREAKING EARTHQUAKE!!!
All's well that ends well
And I'm still alive to tell my tale!
Great place to vacation but you wouldn't wanna live there!

Vi

Estoy descentrada en medio de este salón.
No estoy
en ninguno de los caminos que pusieron de punta todo mi ser.

He descubierto
la montaña de cariño que batíamos cada domingo
y he pedido perdón
para poder dormir.

La vida se aproa en calma
y se busca,
como mi destino ahora,
como mi fondo aquí,
como tú,
el número uno
de todos mis anhelos.

Punta Cana on my t-shirt, had a wonderful time there
Two great weeks of sunny weather with a Caribbean flair
Girls in sarongs
Latin beat songs
A far away world with pure happiness in the air

Sacrificare

Attenzione se non si desidera ottenere controllato
Io sono un knightmare
Un pedone quando si passo
Il mio vescovi sono un grande spavento
I vescovi sono unsaintly
Uccidere i nemici quotidiano

In the Basque tongue of Spain, it means “merry festival”.
This is a very fast-paced game designed to enthrall.
Players with very long wicker baskets sling a ball
at vicious speeds to bounce off a high front fronton wall.

It is just one of many versions called “pelota”.
A goat-skin ball is volleyed with a “cesta-punta.”
It is played between teams on a court called a “cancha”.
The game draws gamblers in New England and Florida.
Plenty of excitement is there when the games begin.
The teams of players score seven or nine points to win.

To many spectators, it is exciting and fun
until they lose all their money and become undone.

pronounced "HIGH-lie"
