The Road Not Traveled

Has the life that you once envisioned,
fallen short due to thoughtless choices.
When our thoughts are never provisioned,
we're influenced by clueless voices.
These choices, later, may give us scare,
as we review the path we've taken.
We ponder did any other care,
and were good intentions mistaken.
"To a friends house, the road is never long."

All Powerful Provider present in all places
Potentate presiding our prayers and praises
I'm a pilgrim privileged to be in Your presence
Panting like a deer for Your pure precepts
Profiting from Your priceless pearls of prudence
Provisioned by Your proverbial pages of Scripture
Preserved from pagan practices
Predestined to be Your progeny
Placed in Your perfect plan
Partaker of Your precious promises
Purified by Christ's pouring blood of persecution
Preferred above praiseworthy people
Performing priestly purposes
Planted in the perennial picture of paradise
Patiently preparing for Your Parousia

"You don't have to go home, but you can't stay here!....
We have the right to remain silent.....
"Now if you'll excuse me, I have a fully provisioned
Underground luxury shelter to see, if it meets my
needs." ( Paid for with taxpayer money. ) Re-elect.........
I wonder how many suckers they'll get this time around?
Remember Lucy, Charlie Brown and the football?

I Am Because GOD IS!
If the spirit's not everything, poetry's dust
And if God's not our author, the future is rust,
And if I'm not right well then how am I wrong?
Or have you known from birth all the words of your song?
I'm not trying to tell you what I say is RIGHT!
Just that FAITH is my answer when things "Bump" at night,
I can study creation, but God's beyond ken,
And I postulate FAITH is one way humans win!
If my faith's not the truth, well for me it still works,
If I'm right and God's there, there might even be perks,
And if love's not His essence, then what would it be?
And if love, I think soul, hearts that love God are key!
But I'm not like Pascal; I'm not making a bet,
If you proved that God's dead would not move me and yet,
It does sadden me truly if you doubt His ways,
Is your death real, God dead? Simply logic forays!
Can you hear me? Consider this world, then, His Will.
Are we not well provisioned? Do you feel a chill?
How can man fear soul's loss who trusts Justice is fact,
But that Grace is sufficient, because of Christ's act!

Flexibility of my print
Instability of a firm objective
Enamored by the mood thus sent
Could not decree my soul deflective.
Preconception designed for illness,
Hovering circumstances fixed
Longing to make well the stillness
And discard this faithless bother immixed.
Considered informed so much as insightful
I credit deficiency to lonesomeness frightful.
Directly the detriment does dismount
Just as was envisioned
And I am earning my just case,
As is quite honestly provisioned.

Freelance wanderer carefully navigating the vast expanse
Shadow warrior doth stealthily advance without
remonstrance
With bartered lance, pawned knife; abridged parlance
Shuffling in tantric harmony o'er unforgiving terrain;
nuanced eccentric
Camel cavalcade, entrancing spectacle across glistening
sands prancing
Shrouded by the frantic wind; each, cloaked itinerant a
tenured mantic
Trading the rationed provenance of open spaces for
gratuitous providence of flowering oases
Prudently forming each tribal alliance; deviously skirting
terms of compliance
Hearth covering from servile herd exacted; animistic
seams redacted
Burdened traveler in psychosomatic trance; by warming
flame, pyromantic
Each tenement provisioned by industrious wives; lofty
presentiment
Hospitality granted to imploring drifters; enmity shown
to extorting grifters

Bridled pilgrim on tributary road
Sanctified route that Imams trode
Hoping cares and sorrows to unload
In Mecca's blessed, sanctified abode
Prayerful disciple dutifully abnegating world in part
Humbly following the scantily-provisioned cart
In contrition, taking alms from each, beneficent heart
Diligently brushing aside each mental block, earthen
rampart
Suffering the reproach of strangers with grace
Shouldering the stigma attached to foreign race
Showering kindness to each passed, nameless face
Seeking refuge in lowly shelter and amended space

He stood erect.
I don't know
if he would have kissed his mate
or patted his childrens' heads
when he set out from camp
to procure food.
But they were happy
when he returned provisioned.
I bought him rice and tuna at Wal-Mart.
This is homelessness today.

Eagerly joining the nation's martial order,
Becoming Uncle Sam's itinerant boarder,
Pledging to defend my country's border,
Against foreign malice and internal disorder.
Callously disregarding my own personal ambition,
Carelessly abandoning familial bonds and social position,
Caustically enlisting in the my country's latest inquisition,
Cheerfully pledging to defend abstract values without condition.
Forthrightly conditioned to to obey without recourse,
Instantly melded into mindless, fraternal force,
A provisioned robot, a designated national resource,
Vetted to die for patriotic cause without slightest remorse.
Subjugated to the imperial dictums of state,
Compensated a minimal wage for perilous fate,
Commissioned to fight amorphous foes without face,
Trained to annihilate belligerents without trace.
