Nights infusion
bleary eyed rivals
in Soho tweed
Pharaohs joke was here
Denim clad oxymorons
with spotlight eyes
Archways lean close
as sticks befuddle
their spark of epiphany
A jewelled silence
captures the gangsters in silhouette
Freaks five a penny
prolapse the night
Climbing a wooden ladder, seeking a laugh!
Guffaws in splinters — as I grab each side splitter.
A crescendo after the rung chuckles.
The thinning air and applause, prolapse my breath.
My knees might buckle as I collapse.

Robert Haigh’s Make Me Laugh contest
cant find yourself lost in the light
cower in the shadows of a broken fairy tale
reeling like an adict from another worthless fix
freezing in the rain as the stars are screaming
withdraw to the place where you call home
where hate becomes dispare where your veins are bleeding
sweet rapture of life ending here tonight
the powers of pain lust and greed no use for you no use indeed
spining round we hit the ground and prolapse on the carpet
break the glass and shake your xxxx what was worthless is now mine
i call to you you look at me and then to them
the haunting shadows that trapped you for so long
now vanish into the wind
now breath breath not bleed no more
