Do I love you like the sun loves flowers,
or like the swans that synchronize swimming?
Do I love you like parrots love showers
for their chattering preening and primming?
Is my love exciting and dramatic;
does it stir up your heart, making you sing:
unexpected, surprising, ecstatic,
shining with sparkles of gold dusted bling?
Perhaps it is words that whisper your name,
or tapestry patterns woven with threads.
It might be the spaces - perhaps the frame:
imaginations in each of our heads.
I keep loving you in my clumsy way,
sharing a hug at the end of each day.

An eyrie of bald eagles stir,
waking to the fresh morning air.
Preening and primming flight feathers
grooming each with diligent care.
Flies buzz around yesterday's scraps,
fueled by the rays of the sun.
And shifting shadows disappear,
darkness defeated, dawn has won.
While perched high on a rocky crag,
their keen eyes soon survey the land.
And with uncanny precision,
vast hunting grounds are swiftly scanned.
Hungry eaglets flex flightless wings
forming formidable muscles.
And food brought by the parent birds
oft instigates sibling tussles.
Calling out and circling close by,
eagles urge chicks to leave the nest.
And for the first time, fledglings flap
feathered wings, passing nature's test.

Technician of the soul
Teacher of the spirit
Primming the way in
Blue sky's
Then cloudy again
Falling away to the shelf
Blame it on David
We were not there
Seems like a good idea
Sign of the times
Needing to get relief
Cover all the suffering
David had fun so it seemed
Until the payment was due
He had to flee
Back to the teacher he went
Begging with all that poetry
God forgives
