Precast Poems | Examples

Urban Rot

Menace to society,
Deranged minds,
Sinister thoughts,
Unsettling spaces.

The unknown looms,
Minds in cluttered rooms,
The untold overcast,
License and freedom are precast.

Trouble in public places,
Comes to languages and races,
Bleeding hearts and crouching souls,
Their loved ones are the bulls' eyes.
The unseen is the rolling dice.

Soaring casualties,
We're faced with harsh realities,
Our hope hangs in the dark,
Memories of the loss still come back,
It's an urban rot.

Unmarked Graves

Arresting the future
 as well as the past
Time the great jailor
its prison precast

A graveyard of victims
in temporal loss
Destiny preying
—perdition the cost

The Last Kick of a Flying Horse, Not the Last Kick of a Dying Horse

- matric dance 2017

We are Ambassadors,
We are Ambassadors Embarking on a new journey,
Reaching out, towards the future
That is glittering like the sun
Its warmth melts resolutions of today
We could mold awards for tomorrow
Walking on a new track
Leaving better tracks for our brothers and sisters
The first 3 laps we've ran with fears
Now let's pause and oil up the gears,
Before hitting the lap that is the last
Destiny is not a precast
We kiss no frogs,
Excellence's delegates
We bite a bunch of disposals
2017 is ours or the hard way
Flocking for the future,
Becoming a rainbow on the color grey
Becoming the delight of the day
Sweeping the dreams in one place,
Not forgeting to keep more sweat on the face
Bitterness fading, eating sweetness, I call that being fruitful
It is in our hands to make the future beautiful
We only got one chance,
But before we can - let's have a dance!

Led By the Kiss

Verse 1:
I truly want you to hear me
you're busy with cement's precast
I stay in limbo twisting in the pre
in intransit mixers turning fast

Must it all be preparation?
Coach when can I play in the game?
waiting kills dream's consecration
and Im losing interest in the aim

Chorus:
So self abuse increases again
cant get passed the pain of the rush
no whys misinterprets the when
making error to blame for it's crush

Verse 2:
I push all my chips to the middle
I lose myself in hope as you deal
what to do the unanswered riddle
guessing ingrediants smelling the meal

Oh the torture of what little I know
its the strings of my guitars
I pick the tunes of suffering's flow
I sing night's dark seen by the stars

Chorus:
So self abuse increases again
can't get passed the pain of the rush
no why's misinterprets the when
making error to blame for it's crush

Reprise:
Your silence tells me not to do this
can't let go of what I could miss
torture through desire for bliss
brought to disease led by the kiss

I learned Im small, less than a pawn
my heart dies and they just yawn
while its only a draft drawn
its dusk brought by the dawn
